About this opportunity
Ericsson is seeking a motivated SLM Developer Intern to join our team in Austin, Texas for a 12-week Summer 2026 internship. This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers developing and enhancing Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) solutions that support modern telecommunications networks.
As an intern, you will contribute to software development initiatives that enable automation, monitoring, and lifecycle management of network services in cloud-based environments. You will gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge technologies that support the deployment and management of next-generation networks.
What you will do:
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) software solutions.
- Contribute to backend and/or automation development supporting network service orchestration and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop and improve scalable applications and services.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting software issues.
- Help develop automation scripts and tools to improve testing and deployment processes.
- Work with modern development practices including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.
- Document technical designs, development tasks, and testing outcomes..
You will bring:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2.7+ GPA on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, or Master's on a full-time basis at a 4-year college or university at the time of the internship.
- Be available to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
- Experience programming in one or more languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
- Basic understanding of software development principles and object-oriented programming.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Interest in cloud-native technologies and microservices architecture.
- Exposure to container technologies such as Docker or orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
