Site Engineer

To manage and execute HDPE and thermoplastic pipeline projects at site by ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with design specifications, and adherence to HSE and quality standards. The role also supports pre-contract activities including site evaluation, risk assessment, and technical input for proposals and cost estimations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute installation, testing, and commissioning of HDPE and thermoplastic piping systems in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work systems, and customer site safety requirements.
• Conduct site assessments, technical evaluations, risk assessments, and provide technical input for proposals, cost estimations, and project planning.
• Interpret drawings and coordinate with engineering, sales, project management, fabrication, and customer teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Plan, supervise, and monitor site activities, manpower utilization, equipment deployment, productivity, and work progress.
• Conduct customer training programs and practical demonstrations on thermoplastic pipe jointing and welding techniques, including butt fusion, electrofusion, socket fusion, infrared welding, and applicable industry standards and best practices.
• Support the Head of Unit – Specialized Services in resource planning, project scheduling, manpower allocation, customer management, business development activities, and departmental initiatives.
• Actively participate in customer meetings, site visits, technical presentations, and project reviews.
• Mentor and develop site technicians and junior personnel to improve technical competency, operational effectiveness, and succession planning.
• Ensure proper operation, maintenance, calibration, and utilization of welding machines, tools, and site equipment.
• Utilize ERP/Oracle systems for project tracking, material consumption, job costing, and operational reporting.
• Prepare site reports, technical documentation, project close-out records, training records, and management updates in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head of Unit – Specialized Services.

Qualification & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in HDPE / thermoplastic piping installation, fabrication, and project execution.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline installation, welding techniques, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
• Experience in site surveys, technical evaluations, risk assessments, and proposal support activities.
• Ability to manage site teams, customer interactions, project planning, and operational challenges.
• Ability to conduct customer training and certification programs on thermoplastic pipe jointing and welding techniques.
• Proficient in ERP/Oracle systems, MS Office, reporting, and MTO/BOQ preparation.
• Valid UAE manual driving license (must be able to drive a 1-ton pickup vehicle).
