Executive-Level Summary
A senior technical marketing engineer is a strategic technical leader who transforms engineering innovation into customer adoption by validating solutions, influencing product strategy, enabling the field, engaging key customers, and driving successful business outcomes across the product lifecycle.
For your HPE Networking context, a strong Sr TME would be expected to lead initiatives across AOS-CX, Central AIOps, self-driving networking, security, AI-driven operations, customer adoption, launch readiness, competitive positioning, and executive customer engagements while influencing multi-million-dollar business opportunities.
Technical Leadership
Serve as a subject matter expert for networking architectures, products, and solutions.
Define, validate, and review enterprise reference architectures and deployment best practices.
Provide technical guidance to product management, engineering, sales, and services.
Product & Release Readiness
Drive launch readiness for hardware and software releases.
Validate new features and solutions in customer-realistic environments.
Identify deployment risks and ensure product quality before GA.
Customer & Field Engagement
Engage directly with strategic customers, partners, and executives.
Support large opportunities, RFPs, competitive situations, and critical escalations.
Gather customer feedback and influence product direction.
Technical Storytelling & Enablement
Translate complex technologies into business outcomes.
Create technical collateral, demos, workshops, TOIs, feature guides, and training assets.
Enable SEs, partners, and customer-facing teams globally.
Cross-Functional Influence
Work closely with engineering, PLM, marketing, and sales teams.
Influence roadmap priorities based on market trends and customer requirements.
Act as the catalyst connecting strategy, execution, and adoption.
Industry & Thought Leadership
Represent the company at customer events, conferences, webinars, and industry forums.
Develop technical positioning against competitors.
Evangelise strategic initiatives such as AI-driven and self-driving networking.
Mentoring & Team Leadership
Coach junior engineers and future technical leaders.
Establish technical standards and best practices.
Drive consistency, quality, and technical excellence across the organisation.
What you need to bring:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering or related field of study. MBA or advanced degree in computer science or engineering preferred.
2 to 5 years of work experience in a related field. AI will be a plus.
Technical understanding and knowledge of the relevant industry.
ML/AI certification will be a plus.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient understanding of product development and AI-native understanding of how AI/ML works.
Proficient skills in AI-native Campus Fabric & Edge Architecture, Dynamic Policy, Zero Trust, and Security. enterprise networking, EVPN-VXLAN fabric, telemetry, APIs, and gRPC network management interface, and operational scalability & Automation.
