World Fuel Government Solutions is seeking a Senior Integrated Product Support (IPS) Engineer to lead maintenance, supportability, reliability, and lifecycle engineering activities across complex Defence systems and equipment.
This role is responsible for defining how Defence capability is maintained, supported, repaired, and sustained throughout its operational lifecycle.
You will lead the development of maintenance concepts, supportability strategies, Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), Reliability & Maintainability plans, parts provisioning requirements, sustainment plans, and lifecycle support solutions that ensure critical Defence systems remain operational for years to come.
This Is Not a Traditional Systems Engineering Role
This is not a requirements management, architecture, software engineering, MBSE, or verification-focused position.

What You'll Be DoingLead Sustainment & Supportability Activities
- Lead IPS activities across Defence programs.
- Define maintenance concepts, lifecycle support strategies, and supportability frameworks.
- Develop sustainment solutions for complex Defence systems.
- Influence how Defence capability is supported throughout its service life.
- Lead Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA) activities.
- Define maintenance levels, servicing requirements, and sustainment concepts.
- Establish maintenance strategies aligned to operational usage profiles.
- Determine long-term support requirements throughout the equipment lifecycle.
- Lead development of Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) plans.
- Support Reliability, Availability & Maintainability (RAM) activities.
- Evaluate equipment failure modes and maintenance requirements.
- Recommend improvements to supportability and sustainment strategies.
- Develop Parts Provisioning Lists and spares strategies.
- Determine sparing requirements and lifecycle support needs.
- Contribute to sustainment forecasting and inventory planning.
- Support long-term asset management initiatives.
- Develop IPS and ILS deliverables for Defence customers.
- Support ASDEFCON-aligned programs and sustainment activities.
- Develop maintenance procedures, technical publications, user manuals, and support documentation.
- Ensure deliverables meet customer and contractual requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across sustainment activities.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers.
- Support professional development within the engineering team.
- Share expertise across reliability, maintenance, and supportability disciplines.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Australian Citizen able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally 10+ years.
- Strong understanding of maintenance and support of complex mechanical systems.

Skills Required
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Australian citizen able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
- 7+ years relevant engineering experience
- Experience developing maintenance strategies, maintenance concepts, support plans, or sustainment programs
- Experience conducting Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), supportability analysis or similar sustainment activities
- Strong understanding of reliability, maintainability, supportability, asset lifecycle management, maintenance planning, and sparing analysis
- Experience working with complex mechanical equipment and systems (rotating equipment, engines, vehicles, plant equipment, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
- Experience with Defence sustainment programs, ASDEFCON, IPS/ILS, RAM activities, engineering change management, or technical publications
