Working at Atlassian
Atlassians can choose where they work - whether in an office, from home, or a combination of the two. That way, Atlassians have more control over supporting their family, personal goals, and other priorities. We can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity.
About the role
Atlassian's Implementation Services team helps enterprise customers turn ambitious plans into production-ready Atlassian Cloud solutions. We lead hands-on discovery, design, configuration and launch for complex, high-impact use cases, and work alongside Solution Partners to scale delivery. Our aim is to create solutions that are right by design, ready day one and built to last.
As Senior Manager, Implementation (APAC), you'll build the regional implementation practice from the ground up, hiring and developing the right mix of implementation architects, consultants and implementation project managers to meet customer demand. You'll directly manage the team, guide the quality and health of a portfolio of customer engagements, and work closely with Services Solutions Advocates (SSAs) to shape opportunities and help grow regional implementation bookings. You'll be accountable for your team's customer outcomes, delivery margin and operating discipline, establishing a repeatable APAC implementation capability and the forecasting, staffing and utilization practices that keep it healthy as it grows.
This is a player-coach role. While the team is small, you'll lead customer engagements and pre-sales scoping yourself, alongside hiring and developing the team, and shift toward leading the practice as it grows.
What you'll do
- Build and coach the team. Define the skills and capacity the APAC implementation practice needs, then recruit, onboard and develop implementation architects, consultants and implementation project managers as demand grows. Set clear expectations, give regular feedback, support career growth, and create an inclusive, sustainable, high-performing team across APAC time zones.
- Lead pre-sales scoping. Qualify cloud implementation opportunities, run technical discovery, and build estimates and statements of work your team can confidently deliver. Keep scope aligned with customer goals and clear engagement boundaries, plan for a smooth handover to ongoing ownership, and represent the practice credibly with senior customer stakeholders.
- Own delivery quality across your portfolio. Establish appropriate governance from discovery and solution design through configuration, testing, production launch and handover. Review scope, milestones, risks and customer outcomes; step into complex engagements and escalations when leadership is needed.
- Deliver across the Atlassian platform. Ensure teams can bring the right expertise to Atlassian Cloud implementations, which may include Jira, Confluence and Jira Service Management as well as other product areas according to customer needs. Draw on product specialists and partners where appropriate.
- Run a healthy services operation. Establish and run a reliable operating rhythm for regional implementation delivery: own capacity and staffing plans, utilization targets, delivery economics and margin performance. Maintain accurate demand, delivery and revenue forecasts, with clear assumptions and regular reviews alongside Finance, Services Operations and regional leadership. Track forecast accuracy, utilization, engagement health and margin risk; act early to correct course while balancing customer outcomes and team wellbeing. Work closely with SSAs on pipeline visibility and converting well-scoped opportunities into bookings, while the SSA team owns the bookings target.
- Shape and scale the APAC practice. Improve implementation methods, design reviews, reusable assets and packaged or tailored offerings. Feed lessons from customer work into playbooks and enablement; use AI and automation thoughtfully where they improve delivery or customer value.
- Work as one team with partners and colleagues. Collaborate with Solution Partners, Engagement Managers, Advisory Services, Cloud Transformation Services, Sales and Customer Success to align on customer outcomes and coordinate co-delivery. Partner closely with Services Solutions Advocates on regional pipeline and implementation demand.
- Travel to support delivery. Spend up to 30% of your time traveling domestically, and in some cases internationally in the region for customer workshops, key delivery milestones and internal events.
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. We follow consistent hiring practices and account for each candidate's skills, knowledge, and experience when setting base pay within the range.
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
Your background
- 10+ years in enterprise professional services, SaaS implementation or technical consulting, including 5+ years leading and developing customer-facing, billable delivery teams with direct people-management responsibility.
- Experience building customer-facing delivery teams, including workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding and coaching architects, consultants and implementation project managers; a track record of performance management and scaling team capability alongside customer demand.
- Sound judgment on enterprise solution design, hands-on configuration, integrations, testing and production-readiness risks across cloud platforms; able to lead delivery hands-on while the team is small and challenge technical approaches as it grows.
- Experience owning delivery margin, utilization and capacity outcomes for a services team or portfolio, and building accurate demand, delivery and revenue forecasting processes in a growing practice. Comfortable running regular business reviews with Finance and Services Operations, managing project economics and customer escalations, and partnering with a separate commercial team to help grow bookings without owning the bookings target.
