About the Role:
As a Senior Software QA Engineer, you will play a key role in safeguarding and continuously improving the quality of the Kyte product. You will work closely with backend, frontend, and product peers to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle, define testing strategies, and raise the overall quality maturity of the team. This role combines hands‑on testing with ownership of QA practices and coaching the team towards shared responsibility for quality.
Kyte is a lightweight, user-friendly SaaS-based invoicing tool designed for freelancers, sole traders, and small businesses. It enables users to create and send professional e-invoices in seconds, fully compliant with digital invoicing regulations.
Responsabilities:
- Own and drive the overall quality strategy for Kyte, ensuring quality is built in from design to production.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites (API, integration, and end‑to‑end) as part of the CI/CD pipeline.
- Perform exploratory and risk‑based testing to uncover edge cases and complex failure scenarios.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, product owners and engineers to define clear acceptance criteria and test scenarios.
- Act as a quality coach within the team, promoting best practices such as shift‑left testing, testability, and prevention over detection.
- Review requirements, designs, and implementations with a quality mindset, identifying risks early.
- Analyze production issues and defects, driving root‑cause analysis and preventive improvements.
- Continuously evolve QA processes, tools, and metrics to improve efficiency, coverage, and confidence in releases.
Skills:
- Senior QA experience: Extensive experience testing production SaaS products as part of a cross‑functional product team.
- Test automation: Strong experience with automated testing (API, integration, end‑to‑end); familiarity with modern test frameworks and tooling.
- Programming background in JavaScript, TypeScript in automated testing.
- Experience with AWS Environment.
- Quality engineering mindset: Ability to think beyond test cases and focus on system behavior, risks, and failure modes.
- CI/CD integration: Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Technical affinity: Comfortable working with APIs, data models, logs, and basic scripting or programming.
- Agile experience: Proven experience working in Scrum or Kanban teams.
- Openness to AI‑assisted testing: Willingness to leverage AI tools to improve test design, coverage, and efficiency.
