This role is located in Somerville, MA - We are a hybrid work environment and are in the office 3+ days/per week.

About the role: 

Your leadership will be the driving force behind Tulip’s core product experience. We’re looking for a technical, people-oriented Build Group Lead to help lead our growing Build team. In this role, you’ll help our company reach the next level by directing the engineering managers and technical leaders on teams that are responsible for the majority of Tulip’s product surface area. You’ll collaborate across the engineering and product teams at Tulip to determine the roadmap, scope work, navigate tradeoffs for scale, and ensure that everyone is working together effectively. 

About you:

You possess high levels of technical acumen, people management skills, and a keen desire to deeply understand the business value of the product. You have honed your technical skills through years of building and delivering SaaS products. You’re passionate about mentoring engineers and helping them grow. You are a collaborative and motivated self-starter and ready to lead from the front. You bring your authentic self to work.

You also love collaborating across the organization with infrastructure, product, design, and customer teams on key projects. You’ll work with your engineering leads to cultivate and grow our engineering culture.

What skills or experience do I need?

  • Expertise in contemporary tech stacks including React, Redux, NodeJS, Rabbit, MongoDB, Postgres
  • People management experience, including a proven track record of managing other engineering managers or technical leads
  • Experience building large SaaS products and complex distributed systems
  • Led prior development efforts and oversaw the delivery of clean, efficient code
  • Cross-functional team leadership with technical and customer-facing feature delivery
  • Capable of hiring, mentoring, and creating career opportunities for your team 
  • Experience integrating software components and third-party technologies
  • Experience architecting systems that integrate agentic and generative AI capabilities
  • Strong understanding of testing and deploying systems in multicloud/multitenant environments.

The compensation information displayed on each job posting reflects the range for new hire pay rates for the position across all US locations. Within the range posted, actual compensation will be determined depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge & skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, market compensation data, and internal equity. Expected compensation ranges for this role may change over time. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000 per year.
