The Opportunity
The Sr. Scrum Lead will oversee Agile practices & processes, advising Agile teams to ensure highly functional and productive teams
Position Responsibilities:
- Deliver the initiative ensuring it meets or exceeds the requirement from project management/oversight, governance requirement, build, testing, transition, deployment standpoint.
- Provides real-time feedback to keep delivery on track and address issues as they arise.
- Assists the Product owner in the completion of project governance requirements.
- Tracks and ensures the completion and submission of the pre-requisite artifacts for ensuring a successful deployment of releases.
- Align and provide support to PMO & Governance on the reporting mechanism, execution and standards.
- Facilitates the adoption of agile principles, events and processes.
- Helps educate the squad on Agile practices Identifies Agile Team improvement opportunities.
- Facilitates resolving obstacles & escalates where necessary.
- Facilitates and actively participates in Agile events and partners with Product Owners to deliver prioritized features.
- Supports 3-4 teams on a single backlog.
- Facilitate teamwork and continuous improvement of the team's agile practices.
- Helps remove obstacles or impediments and help squad members achieve optimum productivity.
- Identifies opportunities to increase feature velocity.
- Leads the team in process improvements.
- Captures Sprint Metrics
- Coaches different levels of hierarchy through agile principles & practices
- Reinforces target agile behaviors.
- Involvement in developing backlog thru in-depth coaching of Product owner
- Facilitates Agile release train events and processes and supports teams in delivering value (RTE).

What we are looking for

Certified Scrum Master
-
Minimum of 5 years IT experience with at least 3 years as a Scrum Master

Excellent knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps tools stacks (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)

Demonstrates understanding of how technology supports Manulife's strategy.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Strong working knowledge of key aspects of the role

Able to maintain high performing development team, able to facilitate, lead and challenge assumptions during discussions.

Insurance background and certification is an advantage.
