It's a new day with a new opportunity at 8am!
About the role:
8am is looking for a Senior Salesforce Administrator to own the configuration, design, and functionality of the Salesforce platform that Sales, Marketing, and Customer Operations rely on every day. You’ll have a real impact on how efficiently the whole company works and be a key voice in shaping our systems strategy as we grow.
You’re Salesforce certified, fluent in API-based integrations, and just as comfortable explaining things to non-technical teammates as working through details with engineers. You think like an owner, build for the long term, and love going above and beyond for the people you support.
About us:
At 8am, our vision is to power a world where professionals thrive. We start every day on a mission to empower professionals with the most trusted, innovative technology to deliver world-class outcomes for their clients and exceptional financial results for their business. They count on our purpose-built solutions to simplify operations, ensure compliance, and fuel profitable growth, so they can focus on their clients and do more of the work that matters.
Founded in 2005, 8am™ (formerly AffiniPay) is the professional business platform built to help legal, accounting, and other client-focused professionals run stronger, more profitable businesses. Today, more than 250,000 professionals across the U.S. trust 8am to help them work smarter, serve clients better, and unlock their full potential. We have been recognized as one of Inc 5000’s fastest growing companies in the U.S. for 13 years in a row, and as a result, our teams continue to grow as well!
What you'll do:
- Own the configuration, support, and customization of our Salesforce instance and its integrations, serving as the escalation point for the most complex issues.
- Lead the Salesforce roadmap with business and technical stakeholders, from discovery to launch: uncover the real problem, translate requirements into clear designs, and balance quick wins against long-term platform health.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in business process design: evaluate how teams work today, identify gaps and inefficiencies, and redesign processes so that Salesforce supports them rather than just mirroring them.
- Set standards for a scalable, well-governed org architecture, including the data model, page layouts, validation rules, and automation, and guide the team in applying them.
- Build with Flow and declarative tools first, make sound build-versus-code decisions, and partner with developers or contribute to Apex and Lightning Web Components when code is the better fit.
- Own security design across profiles, roles, permission sets, and sharing settings, and lead periodic access reviews.
- Coach and mentor junior admins through design and configuration reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing, helping them grow their skills and capabilities.
- Lead complex, cross-functional projects from scoping through delivery, keeping stakeholders and leadership informed.
- Deliver fast, friendly user support and monitor data quality and system health, tracing issues to the root cause and implementing permanent fixes.
- Define and continually improve our change management process: every change is documented, reviewed, and approved before moving through QA, UAT, and production, supported by sound sandbox strategy and deployment practices.
- Own release quality by setting testing standards and ensuring functional, regression, and UAT testing happen before anything reaches production.
- Identify and adopt practical AI capabilities, in Salesforce and beyond, to improve admin productivity and user outcomes, and help the team use them responsibly.
- Keep documentation current, build training that grows Salesforce skills across 8am, and stay on top of Salesforce releases, recommending improvements with a long-term mindset.
About you:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Administrator; Salesforce Administrator certification preferred; advanced certifications (Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, Consultant) a plus.
- Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and the ability to understand how teams work and translate their needs into well-defined, testable solutions.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring junior team members and leading projects or initiatives, formally or informally.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively with business leaders, non-technical teams, and engineers.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- Strong ability to diagnose issues to the root cause, prioritize competing requests, and deliver lasting fixes.
- Expert command of Flow and declarative tools, with a track record of designing scalable, maintainable automation.
- Working knowledge of Apex and Lightning Web Components, enough to review code, understand governor limits, and contribute when needed.
- Deep understanding of the Salesforce data and security models: objects, fields, record types, permission sets, roles, and sharing.
- Experience with API-based integrations, including designing, monitoring, and troubleshooting connections between Salesforce and other systems, plus release management experience (sandbox strategy, Salesforce DX or change sets, Git-based workflows).
- Curiosity about AI and a habit of testing new tools to work faster and better.
- Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.
