Job Description:
We’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our John Hancock team at MBPS. In this role, you will be responsible for strategizing, creating, implementing, and managing automated tests to support our US Segment software applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep understanding of agile methodologies and possess the ability to collaborate effectively with product owners, business stakeholders, delivery leads, and end users to ensure seamless user acceptance testing. Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize standard processes and tools to develop and maintain automation scripts and generate reports for efficient bug tracking and reporting.
- Develop comprehensive end-to-end test strategies to establish automated test coverage and best practices throughout the entire product life cycle.
- Analyze automation results and investigate any failures to ensure accurate and reliable testing outcomes.
- Engage in code reviews and knowledge sharing activities to contribute to the team's skills and expertise.
- Create and communicate Testing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to align testing efforts with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product managers, to identify and address quality issues.
- Implement new and updated quality standards to enhance the overall quality assurance processes.
- Participate in Engineering Forums to exchange insights and best practices with peers.
- Document and implement leading practices to drive ongoing QA improvements and efficiencies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, continuously improve skills and competencies, and apply new knowledge to enhance testing practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent educational background
- 4 or more years of hands-on experience in software testing, including the development and maintenance of automated tests using frameworks and technologies such as Selenium, TestNG, RestAssured, Appium, WebDriverIO, Xray for JIRA, Jenkins, TeamCity, and other testing frameworks and tools.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming Languages such as Java, JavaScript, Groovy, .NET, Node.js/React, or Python.
- Proven ability to identify opportunities for productivity and efficiency improvements, and a demonstrated capacity to adapt to change quickly and effectively.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Track record of creating comprehensive test strategies, including the application of risk-based testing principles.
- Excellent communication skills, (written and oral) including proficiency in facilitation and presentation.
- Strong capabilities in planning, organization, risk management, and problem-solving.
- Availability to work 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST hours.
