Job Purpose and Impact
- The Mobility Engineer is responsible for the technical execution and lifecycle management of Apple (iOS) and Android endpoint services. This role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient operation of mobile devices by managing provisioning, patching, software deployment, compliance, and automation. The position requires deep expertise in iOS, Android, and MDM/MAM platforms to enhance user experience, security posture, and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
- Mobility Endpoint Services: Deliver end-to-end technical execution of mobile endpoint services, including provisioning, patching, software deployment, and compliance across Apple and Android platforms
- Provisioning & Configuration: Design, maintain, and optimize provisioning and configuration processes using enterprise tools (e.g., JAMF, Intune, Apple Business Manager, Zero Touch), ensuring consistent deployment and lifecycle management
- MDM/MAM Administration: Administer and optimize MDM/MAM platforms to enforce compliance, security policies, and seamless user experience across mobile ecosystems
- Advanced Technical Support: Provide Tier 4 (L4) escalation support for complex endpoint, deployment, and policy-related issues
- Security & Vulnerability Management: Design and execute patching strategies and vulnerability remediation to maintain endpoint security and platform stability
- Hardware & Carrier Integration: Support hardware evaluation, certification, and mobile carrier onboarding for Apple and Android devices
- Automation & Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement automation (e.g., scripting, workflows) to improve provisioning, compliance, reporting, and operational efficiency
- Collaboration: Partner with product, security, and client experience teams to resolve issues, enhance service quality, and align with roadmap priorities
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including configuration standards, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Qualifications
- Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of advanced experience with iOS and Android architecture, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- 5+ years of experience with JAMF Pro, Intune, and MDM/MAM platforms
- Strong scripting capability (Shell, Python, PowerShell preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
Recommended Certifications
- JAMF Certified Technician or JAMF Certified Admin
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- 42Gears Certification
- Google Workspace Certification
