Our solutions include Australia’s domestic debit network, real-time, data rich payments infrastructure, secure bill payments, digital identity verification, QR payments and experiences and open wallet solutions. It’s a new chapter with more possibilities.

The Purpose

Due to continued internal growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, development and lifecycle management of our payments products.

Working at the intersection of customer needs, market opportunities and business strategy, you will define product direction, prioritise high-impact initiatives and deliver innovative payment solutions that create value for customers and the business.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders to bring products to market, optimise performance and drive continuous improvement across the payments portfolio.

Key Responsibilities of the role:

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of BPAY payments products and capabilities, from strategy and discovery through to delivery, optimisation and retirement.
  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy and roadmap, balancing customer needs, commercial objectives, regulatory requirements and emerging payments trends.
  • Identify and prioritise product opportunities using customer insights, market intelligence, performance data and business value to deliver differentiated payment experiences.
  • Partner with Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Commercial teams to design, build and launch secure, scalable and compliant payment solutions.
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams to successfully implement product initiatives, ensuring quality outcomes, effective governance and timely execution.
  • Monitor product performance, customer adoption and operational metrics, using data-driven insights to continuously optimise products and improve business outcomes.
  • Develop business cases, assess the feasibility of new products and enhancements, and define clear product requirements to support investment decisions and delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, payment partners and vendors, providing expert advice to influence product strategy, innovation and portfolio growth.

You’ll be a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Product Manager, ideally within payments or banking with responsibility for delivering customer-centric products.
  • Working knowledge of the Australian payments ecosystem, payment technologies, financial services and digital product delivery.
  • Proven ability to develop product strategies, prioritise roadmaps and manage products across the full lifecycle, from discovery and launch through to optimisation and retirement.
  • Experience translating customer insights, market research and business objectives into clear product requirements, business cases and commercially viable solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess business opportunities, evaluate options and make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex initiatives using agile or contemporary product delivery practices, while balancing competing priorities and risks.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, build trusted relationships and provide strategic product advice across technical and business audiences.
  • A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
