With Innovation as one of the core values, we have built Automation and AI capabilities into the requirements for every role.
We encourage every member of the Remote team to bring their talents, experiences and culture to the table to help us build the best-in-class HR platform.
This is an exciting time to join Remote and shape the future of reporting and insights as the Senior Product Manager, Reporting & Insights.
Your mission: enable customers and internal teams to answer critical workforce, payroll, finance, and compliance questions with confidence through trusted, well-designed reporting and insights experiences.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, Data, GTM, Sales, Customer Success, Security, Legal, and Operations, you will bring the customer judgment, technical depth, and product craft needed to build reporting that is accurate, scalable, easy to use, and ready for AI-assisted workflows and insights.
You report to a Senior Group Product Manager and collaborate daily with cross-functional partners to ensure every reporting and insights capability succeeds commercially, technically, and operationally.
What you bring
- enior-Level Experience: Track record as a Product Manager with a strong focus on reporting, analytics, data platforms, workflow, or insights products.
- Proficiency in Cursor and/or Claude Code (Required): You must be able to autonomously build, debug, and ship functional code and prototypes — not just write specs. You can understand data schemas, query patterns, analytics code, and AI-assisted workflows hands-on.
- Data Understanding & Fluency (Required): Strong end-to-end data literacy across models/schemas, lineage, and report generation. Comfortable with grain/joins/aggregations and common pitfalls (double-counting, currency/timezones, effective dating, late-arriving data).
- Able to read/write SQL to validate results, investigate discrepancies, and ensure metrics are well-defined, reconciled, and trustworthy. Partner effectively with Data/Engineering to resolve definition and modeling issues.
- Customer Focus: Deep empathy for customers and a strong sense of what matters most in their day-to-day workflows.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to align cross-functional stakeholders, navigate trade-offs, and keep teams focused on what matters most for customers.
- Strong UX Sensibilities: A passion for effortless experiences. You believe that complex data, reporting, and insights workflows should feel simple, trustworthy, and useful to the end user.
- Outstanding Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can explain complex data, reporting, AI, and compliance trade-offs to non-technical executives and clearly articulate value to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Language: Business-level proficiency writing and speaking English.
- Domain Expertise (nice to have): Experience with HR Tech, payroll, finance, compliance, or B2B SaaS products. You understand data models, reporting needs, compliance constraints, and common workflow pain points in this space.
- Set the reporting and insights strategy: Define the vision and roadmap for a multi-surface reporting system across in-app report building, dashboards, scheduled delivery, exports, APIs/connectors, embedded partner surfaces, and AI/agent experiences.
- Deeply understand customer reporting needs: Build empathy for payroll, finance, HR, executive, manager, internal operator, and partner/builder personas — translating different workflows, trust thresholds, and AI readiness levels into clear product priorities.
- Build trusted reporting foundations: Own payroll-grade reporting capabilities including standard reports, configurable report building, GL/journal exports, variance reporting, reconciliation, definitions, permissions, lineage, auditability, and observability.
- Develop intelligent insights experiences: Identify where AI, anomaly detection, driver analysis, and proactive recommendations can help users understand what changed and what to do next — while keeping outputs explainable, source-backed, and compliant.
- Deliver through strong cross-functional execution: Partner with Data, Engineering, Design, Security, Legal, Sales, CX, Finance, Operations, and partners to turn customer needs into technically sound, scalable reporting solutions.
- Measure and improve impact: Establish KPIs for adoption, engagement, trust, report accuracy, distribution usage, retention, expansion, and internal leverage; continuously use feedback and data to improve the product.
- You'll report to: Senior Group Product Manager
- Location: For this position we welcome everyone to apply.
- Start date: As soon as possible
