Location & Eligibility
This role offers a flexible work location across Ireland. Whether that be in the office, remote from anywhere in Ireland, or a mix of office/remote work in Ireland, you choose what works best for your lifestyle.
Your time is valuable. To help with your application, we advise that regrettably we cannot offer work permit sponsorship/self sponsorship for this role.
The Opportunity
Brightflag is the intuitive, AI-first Enterprise Legal Management platform that empowers corporate legal teams and outside counsel to unlock business growth — and the design team is right at the heart of that mission. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll take full ownership of a key product pillar, shaping not just how it looks but what it does and why. This isn't a role where someone hands you a brief and waits for screens. You'll work end-to-end: getting close to real customer workflows, framing the right problems, running continuous discovery alongside delivery, and shipping work that moves the needle for legal teams around the world. 🚀
You'll be joining a small, high-calibre design team that genuinely cares about craft, collaboration, and doing things properly. Working in a product trio with an experienced PM and Engineering partner, you'll have real influence over long-term product direction — and your work will be visible. At Brightflag, great design isn't buried in a backlog; it's referenced, reused, and raises the bar for the whole team. You'll contribute to a growing design system, shape critique culture, and have direct access to leadership, Customer Success, and the people who actually use the product every day.
The timing matters too. The design practice at Brightflag is evolving — not maintained. AI tooling adoption here is peer-led and disciplined, and you'll help shape how the team uses it, not just follow a top-down mandate. If you want to influence how a scaling design team operates rather than inherit someone else's locked-in process, this is that moment. The role is fully remote across Ireland, with monthly travel to Dublin for team touchpoints and quarterly meetups.
What You Will Be Doing
- Communicate design vision, trade-offs and decisions clearly to cross-functional partners and leadership.
- Untangle ambiguous problem spaces into clear direction, forming an explicit hypothesis for how solving a customer problem ladders up to the wider product strategy. Align your trio and other stakeholders using sketches, flows, prototypes, and system thinking.
- Sequence and de-risk complex work. Plan multi-quarter design work so it lands reliably and well considered, tackling the riskiest assumptions first.
- Lead and contribute to human-centred discovery and research: define problems clearly, validate opportunities, and ensure the team is solving the right customer needs. Run continuous discovery alongside delivery, without letting discovery distract from shipping. Exercise judgment on how much research a given decision warrants, from a quick validation to a formal study.
- Use product analytics data alongside customer insight to inform design decisions, identify friction or opportunity, and turn signals into clear, actionable design direction.
- Work closely with your product trio (Product Management & Engineering) to shape solutions collaboratively and continuously.
- Hold a strong point of view on the long-term user experience, but make pragmatic calls that help us ship and learn in the short term.
- Stay close to real customer workflows. Work with Customer Success and Support to understand what's actually happening on the ground and feed that back into the product.
- Help raise the bar for how we design at Brightflag — from critique and craft to research, design systems, and how we work across squads.
- Produce work that becomes a reference standard other designers point to and reuse across pillars, not just within your own domain.
- Contribute reusable patterns and components to the Brightflag Design System, so your solutions raise the baseline for other designers rather than solving problems in isolation.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role, you need:
- 7+ years of experience in Product Design within a product-led SaaS environment.
- Proven product design craft expertise — experience owning meaningful product areas end-to-end, not just delivering screens, but shaping the problem space and seeing it through to impact.
- Strong in human-centred design and discovery — comfortable framing problems properly, exploring options, speaking with customers, and validating direction before committing to build.
- Used to working closely with Product Management and Engineering as part of a tight product trio — collaborating early and often, not working in handoffs.
- Experience designing complex, workflow-heavy B2B products — ideally including multi-sided platforms where different user types (e.g. internal teams, external partners/vendors) interact with shared data under different permissions and needs.
- Clear communicator who can explain their thinking, talk through trade-offs, and influence decisions.
- Experience using AI tools to enhance design and research workflows, with the ability to bring new ways of working and help the team learn and evolve in this space.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, making principled trade-offs that balance user value, technical constraints, and business priorities.
- Experienced working in iterative, Agile product environments, designing in small increments and learning continuously.
- Able to use both qualitative research and quantitative product data to shape decisions, prioritise effectively, and evaluate the impact of shipped work.
- Comfortable designing accessible, inclusive experiences (WCAG 2.1 AA or equivalent) as a baseline, not an afterthought.
- Comfortable working with product analytics tools (e.g. Amplitude, Mixpanel, GA or similar).
The following are a bonus!
- Experience working on AI-driven or data-rich products.
- Experience in legal tech, GRC, or another compliance-adjacent B2B SaaS category.
