We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Power BI Engineer responsible for translating system requirements and user stories into a robust, supportable design of code for the product or application. They develop and test code to ensure it functions as designed and implement code across the software development life cycle steps, preferring CI/CD tooling for deployment and integration, with robust and performant architecture and best-in-class UI/UX.
Job Description:
As an Senior Power BI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing complex software solutions to address Business Intelligence needs. You will collaborate with other software engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure our BI solutions align with business objectives and user needs. Your role will also involve building BI solutions that are AI-prepped, keeping current on the latest software practices, technologies, and vulnerabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute on AI/BI strategy for BI tools and data products
Partner closely with product management teams to understand business requirements, define technical roadmaps, technical architecture, and translate user needs into technical specifications.
Translate system requirements and user stories into a robust supportable design of code for the product or application.
Provide expert guidance and hands-on support in the development of complex data models and reports using DAX language, Power Query, Tabular Model Definition Language (TMDL).
Develop and test code to ensure it functions as designed.
Implement code across the software development life cycle steps preferring CI/CD tooling for deployment and integration.
Work closely with product and operations teams for systems/services the software integrates with.
Play a role in architecture design of the application where applicable/appropriate.
Define guidance for best practice and deliver training to communities of practice.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Expertise with the Microsoft Analytical stack including Power BI, DAX, TIMDL, MSFT Fabric.
Proven experience in software development with a focus on quality and timely delivery.
Experience with designing and managing the architecture of BI solutions, with governance.
Strong knowledge of programming languages, databases, and software development methodologies.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate is preferred.
