About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Adelaide and help deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing network services across complex customer environments. In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of enterprise networks, leading technical incident resolution, and driving continuous improvements across network infrastructure.
Working across a broad range of networking technologies, you’ll collaborate with customers, vendors, carriers, and internal teams to ensure network services remain available, optimised, and aligned to business needs. You’ll also play an important role in mentoring engineers, sharing technical expertise, and contributing to operational excellence.
This is a permanent hybrid opportunity based in Adelaide and includes participation in an on-call support roster. You will need Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance to be considered.
What You’ll Do
- Support the operational management of enterprise and managed network environments.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of network incidents, service requests, alerts, and performance issues.
- Analyse network performance data and identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, and efficiency.
- Implement, test, monitor, and optimise network hardware and software to ensure strong system performance.
- Plan and document network changes, including implementation, testing, risk assessment, and rollback activities.
- Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and operational records.
- Monitor service provider performance and work with vendors and carriers to resolve issues and maintain service levels.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and associate engineers.
- Contribute to operational reporting and recommend improvements to network services and processes.
- Support customer environments while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 5-7 years of hands-on experience in networking and network operations.
- Proven experience configuring and maintaining network, security, communications, and data centre infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of networking and firewall technologies across data centres, LAN, and WAN environments.
- Working knowledge of wireless, mobility, telephony, and cloud networking technologies.
- Strong understanding of network and security management platforms and associated monitoring and reporting tools.
- In-depth experience with routing, switching, firewalls, security appliances, DNS, internet connectivity, wireless infrastructure, and WAN technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead technical investigations and coordinate resolution activities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strong customer focus and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Essential: At least two of CCNP, CCSE, or equivalent industry certifications.
- Desirable: CCIE, CCSM, public cloud certifications, Linux/Unix administration experience, project management certification, Python or Perl skills, or a relevant tertiary qualification.
- Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
