We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our Network Engineering team. This team is responsible for the design, implementation and operation of innovative network solutions for DXC’s federal and state government accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver network projects, including planning and rollout activities, while working closely with DXC project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted technical authority and actively contribute to the planning and execution of implementations ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing by mentoring junior engineers and providing support during incidents, promoting growth and capability development.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management. Ensure both internal and external stakeholders are provided with necessary information about project status, issues, risks and change requests.
  • The role will involve some after-hours work for scheduled activities or in some cases to assist with critical incidents which may arise. This may include travelling to the specific customer location.
  • Work onsite at customers premises or DXC office at least 2-3 days a week within a hybrid work model.

Essential Skills and Experience

Experience

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in network engineering, with strong expertise in Cisco data centre and enterprise networking technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of both LAN and WAN Network Fundamentals.
  • Technical expertise in Cisco VXLAN and data centre networking architectures.
  • Experience in supporting Cisco Nexus Dashboard, DNAC and SDWAN would be desirable.
  • Experience in supporting Cisco ISE and ASA/FirePower security products.
  • Experience in supporting Fortinet, Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewall products would be highly desirable.
  • Load balancing and Security products knowledge such as F5, Netscaler, VPN Gateways.
  • Experience in supporting OT network and security products would be desirable.
  • Experience in managing major incidents and working with technical teams of L2/L3 network engineers.
  • Must have experience working within ITILv3 service management framework.

Problem Solving
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex network challenges.

Communication Skills

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.

Teamwork

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Previous network engineering and network design experience within State or Federal Government environments is highly desirable.

Preferred Certifications

Minimum CCNP certification. CCIE and other industry-recognised vendor certifications are desirable and will be considered favourably.
