Senior Legal Counsel

ZyG is revolutionizing eCommerce with the first Agentic Operating System for eCom scale. 

This end-to-end platform helps product inventors and entrepreneurs turn their products into successful Direct-to-Consumer businesses, addressing the three key challenges of eCom scale: poor product bets, lack of scale infrastructure, and the need for often-complex financing. 

With a connected system of AI Agents built on a unified data infrastructure, the OS analyzes scale-market fit, replaces the fragmented tools, agencies, and manual workflows that typically power eCom growth, and offers the financing needed for DTC scale.

This role will partner closely with stakeholders across Commercial, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, HR, Procurement and Executive Management to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice that supports the Company's strategic objectives while effectively managing legal risk.

• Serve as the primary legal partner to the Commercial team, providing strategic legal advice and practical guidance on commercial initiatives and business opportunities.
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer, partnership, licensing, SaaS, services and other agreements.
• Advise the business on privacy and data protection matters, including supporting compliance with applicable privacy laws and reviewing data-related commercial arrangements. 
• Provide proactive, business-oriented legal advice to cross-functional stakeholders, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks and internal policies to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Finance, Product, Operations, HR and Executive Management on legal matters arising in the ordinary course of business.
• Manage external counsel where appropriate and coordinate legal support on specialized matters.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Company's business and provide practical guidance to internal teams.

• 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience, with significant experience in commercial law.
• Proven experience drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a broad range of commercial agreements, including procurement, marketing, technology, SaaS, licensing, and other business agreements. 
• Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to cross-functional stakeholders across multiple departments.
• Experience supporting commercial transactions from strategy through execution, balancing legal risk with business objectives.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with data privacy and protection laws, including experience handling Data Processing Agreements (DPAs); experience with US and global privacy frameworks is a strong advantage.
