Passionate about food and curious about what drives consumer choices? Join Tastewise and help shape the future of the food and beverage industry.
Tastewise is a human-and-agent food intelligence and marketing platform used by leading companies like PepsiCo, Nestlé, and Kraft Heinz to decide what products to launch, how to market them, and what ultimately makes it to the shelf.
We turn real consumer behavior into actionable insights, helping teams make smarter, faster decisions in a $10 trillion industry that impacts billions of people every day.
If you’re excited about turning data into real-world impact and being part of a collaborative team with a clear mission, this is the place for you!
About the roleWe are looking for a Product Designer to cover a 6-month maternity leave. This is a solo-designer role by nature: you'll own live product work from week one, running your own surfaces end to end, sitting at the intersection of complex data and intuitive visual storytelling.
Because the window is six months, we care far more about how fast you ramp, learn, and decide on your own than about how many years you have on paper. If you are the kind of designer who reads the product, forms an opinion, and ships, you will do well here.
What You'll Do:
- Own design end to end for several product areas in parallel: discovery, flows, UI, prototypes, pixel-perfect handoff, and QA of what actually ships.
- Design AI-native experiences: conversational and agentic interfaces, generated content, states of uncertainty, and the trust and control patterns that help food industry professionals navigate our AI insights with ease.
- Maintain and extend our design system on both sides: components and tokens in Figma, and their real counterparts in the code repo.
- Work directly with engineers, product managers, marketing, and internal product builders, without a layer of translation in between.
- Use AI tooling as part of your daily craft, from exploration through to working prototypes and, where it helps, real code.
- Hold a holistic view of the product: how a single screen serves the user, the workflow it sits in, and the business outcome behind it.
Must-have
- 3+ years designing digital products. We weigh evidence of speed and independent judgment above the number itself.
- Hands-on AI tooling. Figma Make, Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalents, used in real work rather than experiments. You should be able to show what you built with them and what you decided not to.
- Design systems experience, including ownership. Not only consuming a system, but building, governing, and evolving one, in Figma and in the code repo.
- Systematic thinking. You design for scale and consistency, and you can hold product, business, and user perspectives at the same time.
- Multi-project throughput. Comfortable running several workstreams at once with developers, marketing, product, and internal builders.
- Self-direction. You take an ambiguous problem, break it down yourself, and come back with a proposal rather than a list of questions.
Nice to have
- Working comfort in a Git repo: branches, pull requests, reviewing what shipped against what you designed.
- Coding ability at the level of implementing or adjusting your own design in code.
- Experience as a solo or first designer in a startup.
- Marketing or brand design range: landing pages, campaign assets, decks, product marketing surfaces.
- B2B SaaS, data-heavy products, or enterprise workflows.

What We Do
At Tastewise, we’re reinventing how the food and beverage industry understands consumers. Every year, 90% of product innovation in food fails -not because brands lack ideas, but because they lack accurate, real-time insight into what people truly want. Traditional surveys and focus groups can’t keep up with the speed of culture, leaving businesses disconnected from consumer needs. Tastewise solves that. Our AI-powered consumer intelligence platform transforms massive amounts of data from online searches, social conversations, ordering platforms, and recipe sharing into clear, actionable insights. We enable food and beverage companies to discover what consumers are craving, why it matters, and how to meet demand with products that succeed. With Tastewise, brands can: • Reduce waste and costs by focusing only on products people actually need. • Accelerate innovation with real-time data instead of outdated reports. • Tell stronger stories by grounding marketing and product launches in consumer behavior. • Stay ahead of trends with insights that reflect what’s happening now -not what happened last year. Our platform is trusted by leading global food and beverage brands including Campbells, Givaudan, KraftHeinz, Nestlé, Mars, PepsiCo, and more, to answer their most pressing questions, from “Which flavors and ingredients are trending?” to “What health claims resonate with Gen Z today?” Whether it’s identifying the next big plant-based ingredient or optimizing product messaging, Tastewise delivers the clarity needed to win in a competitive market. Since launching in 2018, we’ve grown to 120+ employees across the US, UK, Spain, and Israel. Backed by $50M in Series B funding, we’re scaling rapidly.
Why Work With Us
At Tastewise, we’re not just another data company. Most data companies crunch numbers; Tastewise tells stories. Our AI connects brands to what consumers truly crave, reducing waste and driving impact. Here, your work directly shapes global food trends, in a culture built on collaboration, innovation, and a mission that matters.
