The Sr. Graphic Designer will serve as the dedicated creative resource for the Social and Digital team within Integrated Marketing. This role translates marketing strategies and complex ideas into compelling visual communications across print, digital, social, web, events, sales enablement and other customer-facing channels.
Working with marketing and cross-functional partners, the designer will develop creative concepts, recommend approaches and deliver cohesive, production-ready designs from concept through execution. The ideal candidate brings expertise in visual storytelling, typography, layout and brand design.

Primary responsibilities:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Creative design and execution: Conceives, designs and executes compelling visual communications across traditional and digital media, including print, web, social media, events, sales enablement and other customer-facing channels.

  • Creative initiative: Proactively brings forward creative concepts and recommendations, identifying opportunities to elevate the work beyond the initial request.

  • Bold thinking within constraints: Develops fresh, differentiated creative approaches while working effectively within brand, regulatory and industry requirements.

  • Integrated design: Translates marketing strategies and complex ideas into cohesive visual experiences that effectively extend across print, web, social, events and other customer touchpoints.

  • Creative partnership: Collaborates closely with marketing, social, digital, video, motion graphics and other partners to understand objectives and develop creative solutions that support the broader strategy.

  • Production expertise: Applies strong knowledge of typography, layout, imagery and production requirements, preparing accurate, production-ready files for traditional and digital media and partnering with vendors as needed.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience in graphic design or equivalent experience (OR Associate's Degree with 6+ years experience OR Baccalaureate Degree with 4+ years experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat

  • Graphic design, typography and layout

  • Print design, prepress and production-ready file preparation

  • Digital and web design

  • Social media and digital asset design

  • Presentation design, including PowerPoint

  • Brand identity and visual systems

  • Ability to interpret, apply and maintain established brand guidelines across channels and formats

  • Integrated campaign design and asset adaptation

  • Image editing, retouching and color correction

  • File specifications, color management and print production

  • Web design and/or front-end web development

  • Motion graphics and animation

  • Custom illustration

  • Video editing

  • Interactive or emerging digital design tools

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$80,800.00 - $121,200.00


This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).
