What will you work on?
Reporting to the Director Brand Finance & FP&A Europe, the Senior Finance Analyst FP&A Europe will provide FP&A support to the European business in conjunction with the Corporate FP&A team in Toronto. The Senior Finance Analyst FP&A Europe will be a key member of the European Finance Team with the primary objective to support and build Spin Master’s business and finance capability in Europe.
How will you create impact?
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Coordination and consolidation of the European P&L budget and forecasts (including bi-weekly GPS forecasts) working closely with the Brand Finance, Financial Reporting, Operations Finance, Commercial, and Supply Chain & Logistics teams.
- Work closely with Corporate FP&A team on all European budgeting and forecasting ensuring the European team meets deadlines and that all systems are updated and reconciled to the budget and forecast, as appropriate.
- Coordination and consolidation of the Europe G&A budget and forecasts, liaising with corporate FP&A on deadlines and process, and communicating these to the Finance Managers in Europe.
- Coordination of Europe people costs with Corporate HR and preparation of people and other G&A allocations and recharges for the budget, forecasts, and business reviews including analysis of key variances.
- Coordination and consolidation of the Europe G&A reporting, analysis and commentary required for monthly reporting, budgets, forecasts and business reviews.
- Coordination and collaboration across teams for the Europe and International business reviews and working closely with SVP International Sales, VP International Marketing & Brand Strategy and Director Brand Finance Europe & FP&A on financials and analysis.
- Carry out analysis of impacts of external factors on European financial plans, highlighting margin risks and opportunities. External factors such as competitor activity, market price increases, impacts of FX and inflation, product cost increases, other cost changes, and impacts of unexpected and unforeseen events.
- Working closely with the Director Brand Finance & FP&A Europe and Senior VP, International Sales to identify opportunities and recommend corrective action in areas where actual performance deviates from budget and forecast.
- Coordinate and support a rolling forecast in line with any global rolling forecast initiatives.
- Support any long-term planning initiatives from a financial perspective within the context of the larger Spin Master financial framework.
- Prepare scenario and sensitivity analysis of European financial plans, as appropriate.
- Support the European organisation and the Corporate FP&A Team with ad hoc analysis requests as needed.
- Drive continuous improvements to deliver more efficient and effective FP&A, budgeting and forecasting processes in Europe.
- Lead, support and manage any local and global projects as required.
European Marketing support to Europe Leadership and VP International Marketing & Brand Strategy:
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting of GBT and brand performance for Europe and International markets comparing performance against budget, forecast and prior year. Including performance of top brands and value brands.
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reporting of marketing investment for Europe and International against budget, prior year and forecast.
- Manage the licensing minimum guarantee tracker for all licenses impacting Europe and International, tracking performance against the KPI’s liaising closely with Brand Finance teams, Global Royalty Management Finance teams, and Senior Director Licensing.
- Providing financial support, reporting and analysis as needed, and participation in any other projects and initiatives.
What are your skills and experience?
- Graduate or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
- Professional accreditation from a recognized accountancy body most likely (ACA; CIMA; ACCA etc) with a minimum relevant PQE of 4-6 years preferably in the FMCG, Toy or Fashion industries
- Evidence of successful business support experience and collaborative partnering skill to influence up and down the organization
- Track record of working with Senior Leaders
- Integrity, honesty and understanding of data privacy standards
- Excellent communication skills, rigorous, organised, and able to work collaboratively with commercial and finance teams within Europe and Internationally
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, works independently and a self-starter
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to seek alternative solutions
- Thorough understanding of business principles and practices
- Superior attention to detail with excellent follow-up
- Team player with proven ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Excellent computer literacy together with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent in data gathering and interpretation
- Fluent English skills
