Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
Electronics Architecture & Design
- Design and develop complex mixed-signal electronic assemblies incorporating:
- High-speed digital circuits
- Analog signal conditioning circuits
- Power management and battery-powered systems
- Embedded processors, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and memory interfaces
- Wireless communication interfaces such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
- Perform schematic capture, component selection, design reviews, and technical trade-off analysis.
- Develop high-density multilayer PCB designs in collaboration with PCB layout engineers.
- Optimize circuits for performance, power consumption, thermal behavior, reliability, manufacturability, and cost.
Simulation & Analysis
- Perform circuit simulations using tools such as PSpice, LTspice, or equivalent.
- Conduct:
- Signal Integrity (SI) analysis
- Power Integrity (PI) analysis
- Power supply and transient simulations
- Timing and margin analysis
- Analyze and resolve complex electrical performance issues.
Board Bring-Up & Verification
- Lead board bring-up activities for prototype and production hardware.
- Develop and execute hardware verification and validation plans.
- Troubleshoot issues using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Support system integration, environmental testing, EMC testing, and reliability verification.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensure designs comply with applicable medical device regulations and standards, including:
- IEC 60601 family of standards
- IEC 60601-1
- IEC 60601-1-2 (EMC)
- IEC 62304 awareness
- Risk management processes aligned with ISO 14971
- RoHS, REACH, and other regulatory requirements
- Support regulatory submissions, certification testing, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in design reviews, hazard analysis, FMEA activities, and risk mitigation efforts.
Documentation & Quality
- Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including:
- Design specifications
- Schematics
- Design calculations
- Verification protocols and reports
- Test procedures
- Design history files
- Manufacturing documentation
- Ensure traceability and compliance with quality management processes.
Technical Leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
- Drive design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams to achieve project milestones and product quality objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in electronics hardware design and development.
- Proven experience developing mixed-signal electronic systems for commercial products.
- Strong expertise in:
- Analog circuit design
- Digital circuit design
- Power electronics and battery-powered systems
- High-density multilayer PCB design
- Hardware debugging and failure analysis
- Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools such as:
- PSpice
- LTspice
- HyperLynx or equivalent SI/PI analysis tools
- Strong laboratory debugging and test experience.
- Experience with product development lifecycle from concept through production release.
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing electronics for medical devices, particularly ultrasound imaging systems or handheld healthcare products.
- Knowledge of:
- Ultrasound signal chain electronics
- High-voltage pulse generation
- Low-noise analog front-end design
- Data acquisition systems
- FPGA-based signal processing architecture
- Experience with wireless charging, battery management systems, and portable medical devices.
- Familiarity with Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, or similar EDA tools.
