About the Role
The Senior Director, Supply Chain provides strategic and operational leadership for the San Antonio site's supply chain organization, including procurement, material planning, inventory, kitting, logistics, warehousing, and government property.
This role is responsible for ensuring material availability, supplier performance, cost effectiveness, inventory optimization, compliance, and operational excellence. The Senior Director will develop and execute supply chain strategies that support site performance, customer commitments, and continued business growth.
The role leads a team of supply chain professionals and is responsible for developing organizational capability, improving processes, managing risk, and driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy for the San Antonio site, aligning resources and priorities with operational requirements, customer commitments, and business growth.
- Lead procurement and supplier management strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, material availability, and supplier performance.
- Oversee material planning, purchasing, inventory, kitting, and material flow to ensure production readiness while optimizing inventory and working capital.
- Lead SIOP processes to align demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and financial planning.
- Provide strategic oversight of logistics and warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of materials.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supplier capacity, financial health, single-source exposure, and critical material availability, to ensure continuity of supply.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, trade, contractual, ethical sourcing, and government property requirements, including effective tracking, accountability, reporting, and disposition.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, RCCA, and other methodologies to improve cost, quality, delivery, efficiency, and supply chain visibility.
- Lead the effective use and improvement of ERP/MRP, analytics, automation, and other supply chain technologies to improve performance and scalability.
- Lead, develop, and build organizational capability across the supply chain function, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 10+ years of progressive supply chain experience, including leadership responsibility.
- 5+ years of experience leading supply chain functions, teams, or complex supply chain operations.
- Experience in procurement, supplier management, material planning, inventory management, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Experience developing or implementing supply chain strategies that address cost, quality, delivery, inventory, supplier performance, or material availability.
- Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives or organizational change.
- Experience using ERP/MRP or supply chain management systems.
- Experience managing or mitigating supplier, material, or supply continuity risks.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, MRO, manufacturing, or another highly regulated industry.
- Experience leading complex, multi-functional supply chain organizations.
- Strong strategic leadership, business acumen, financial, analytical, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
