The AI for in-house counsel
The Role
Lead GC AI’s technology partnerships strategy, build a partner program and lifecycle, prioritize integrations, and manage strategic and scaled ecosystem motions. Responsibilities include recruiting and enabling partners, negotiating agreements, coordinating integration delivery with Engineering, managing marketplace listings, developing co-selling and co-marketing programs, tracking partner ROI, and advocating for partner needs with Product. The role requires technical fluency, marketplace and developer ecosystem experience, security and compliance knowledge, and proven B2B SaaS partnership program-building results.
Summary Generated by Built In

GC AI is the legal AI platform built for in-house legal teams. Your decisions shape the product, your impact is immediate, and you own your work from day one.

More than 2,000 companies run their legal work on GC AI, including 200+ public companies, 25+ unicorns, and teams at News Corp, Nestlé, Miro, Bass Pro Shops, Snyk, Skims, Liquid Death, Vercel, Zscaler, and TIME. The platform holds an 80 NPS, more than double the B2B SaaS industry average, which is why GC AI is the leading legal AI platform for companies of all sizes.

GC AI doubled ARR in six months. We raised a $60 million Series B at a $555 million valuation in November 2025 and won #1 Highest Customer Satisfaction at the 2026 SaaS Awards. Our investors include Scale Venture Partners, Northzone, Sound Ventures, and Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel.

You’ll define how things get built, not follow someone else’s playbook. Six principles guide how the team works:

  • 📈 1% Better Every Day: small, compounding improvements across everything you ship.

  • ❤️‍🔥 Customer Obsession: start with the customer and work backward.

  • 🚀 Ship Today: bias toward action and iteration over perfection.

  • 🧗 Find a Way: resourcefulness and ambition over constraint.

  • 🤝 Care: be direct, like an honest friend, even when it’s uncomfortable.

  • 🎯 Own It: full accountability, proactive communication, and attention to detail.

About the Role

AI is rewriting how legal work gets done, and GC AI is at the front of it.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director of Strategic Technology Partnerships to drive partnerships that put GC AI everywhere in-house legal already works building on our strategy to create one unified, powerful surface to solve in-house needs.

In this dynamic leadership role, you will have the autonomy to shape the technology partnerships strategy on two fronts:

  • One, you’ll work with strategic partners such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and the frontier labs defining what is possible in legal AI, shaping how the newest model capabilities reach in-house counsel first.

  • Two, you will connect GC AI to the tools legal teams already use every day to unlock new workflows and value for in-house legal teams.

Together, these partnerships unlock accretive value for our customers and open new distribution channels for GC AI.
This role owns the full technology partner portfolio: a focused set of strategic technology partnerships that warrant deep product, engineering, and GTM investment, and a long tail of integration partners activated through scaled, largely self-serve motions.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on integration and GTM partnership building with program design and strategy setting capability, and can operate effectively in a fast growing, product led, security sensitive environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the technology partner strategy and maturity roadmap aligned to GC AI's enterprise growth objectives and product priorities, with clear phases (Foundation → Growth → Scale → Optimization) and distinct goals and metrics at each stage.

  • Design and launch the Technology Partner Program including benefits, technical and commercial requirements, and the go-to-market entitlements attached to the program.

  • Build the integration evaluation and prioritization framework: a scoring model weighing customer demand signal, ICP overlap, technical feasibility, engineering feasibility, and commercial upside, so roadmap decisions are evidence based rather than loudest voice driven.

  • Create the partner lifecycle and the processes behind it: recruitment, vetting, technical onboarding, enablement, activation, certification, launch, comarketing, coselling, ongoing management, and sunset criteria for integrations that no longer earn their keep.

  • Drive partner reporting through our PRM: track partner sourced, partner influenced, and co-sell opportunities, instrument integration adoption and attach rate alongside them, and build the scorecards and dashboards that show program ROI.

  • Develop partner enablement materials: technical documentation, joint solution briefs, sales playbooks, co-marketing templates, and certification content :and iterate the program as the market, competitive space, and customer feedback shift.

  • Identify and drive partner recruitment by running targeted outbound against a prioritized list of strategic platform partners across categories such as CLM and contracting, e-signature, document management, collaboration suites, CRM, procurement and vendor management, ITSM and ticketing, e-billing and matter management, HRIS, adjacent AI/ML and model providers and more.

  • Build and manage the inbound partner motion that converts a high volume of partner interest into enriched profiles, AI generated fit scores, and a short list of partnerships worth pursuing.

  • Build the scaled motion for the long tail: public API documentation, connector/SDK tooling and sandbox access, automated technical and security vetting, a partner directory, community office hours, and a transparent graduation partner path.

  • Negotiate partnership agreements covering technical scope and SLAs, security and data-handling commitments, go-to-market obligations, marketplace transactability, and referral or revenue-share mechanics where applicable.

  • Coordinate with Engineering to prioritize the integration roadmap based on business impact, and stay accountable through delivery. You own the integration shipping and working, not just the agreement getting signed.

  • Own marketplace presence and listing strategy across high-impact ecosystems (Salesforce AppExchange, Microsoft AppSource/Azure Marketplace, Slack App Directory, iPaaS directories), including listing quality, co-sell registration, and transactability where it accelerates enterprise procurement.

  • Establish co-selling motions and enable internal sales: account mapping, joint pursuit strategy, deal registration, clear rules of engagement, and training so AEs and SEs recognize when an integration unblocks a deal and how to pull a partner into it.

  • Drive co-marketing and partner communications with Sales and Marketing. This can include joint webinars, customer case studies, launch content and conferences, newsletters, briefings and executive roundtables.

  • Champion partner needs to Product and coordinate launches: aggregate partner feedback on product gaps, API limitations, and integration priorities, advocate for partner-critical roadmap items, and ensure partners are briefed ahead of releases so they can enable customers on day one.

What we Value
  • Problem Solver: You come alive tackling complex challenges without obvious solutions.

  • Ownership-Driven: You take initiative without needing direction and focus on outcomes.

  • Continuous Learner: Your curiosity drives you to constantly level up your skills.

  • Startup DNA: You thrive in fast-paced environments where responsibilities evolve.

What We're Looking For:
  • 8+ years in technology partnerships, ecosystem, business development, or channel in B2B SaaS. ideally in developer tools, APIs, infrastructure, applications with a meaningful integration surface, or AI/ML platforms.

  • Proven 0-to-1 program building experience. You have designed and launched a technology partner program from scratch, not only managed an existing one.

  • Both ends of the barbell. You have run high-touch strategic platform partnerships and built scaled, self-serve, long-tail ecosystem motions, and you understand why they require different operating models.

  • Track record of results. Specific examples where integrations you drove produced measurable revenue, customer acquisition, adoption, or retention impact.

  • Marketplace experience. You have shipped and merchandised listings in at least one major ecosystem and understand what makes them convert.

  • Strong technical literacy. You can read API documentation, reason about authentication, webhooks, data models, and integration architecture, and hold a credible conversation with an engineering team on both sides.

  • Developer ecosystem experience. You understand how developers evaluate, adopt, and integrate tools, and what makes a partner-facing developer experience good or unusable.

  • Security and compliance fluency. Comfortable navigating SOC 2, data residency, permissioning, and enterprise security review, which are gating factors in every legal-tech integration conversation.

  • Familiarity with legal AI and legal tech, contract lifecycle management, or the AI application layer (LLMs, RAG, agents, MCP-style connector architectures) is a strong plus.

Nice to Have
  • Experience at developer-first or API-first companies (Twilio, Stripe, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Docusign, and similar).

  • Background in B2B ecosystem or platform strategy at high-growth startups that scaled from Series A to D.

  • Experience in legal tech, AI-driven tools, or selling to in-house legal teams (GC/CLO/legal ops), compliance, or other risk-oriented enterprise buyers.

  • Familiarity with PRM tools, CRM systems, and integration/iPaaS platforms (Zapier, Make, Workato, Tray).

  • Existing relationships across the legal tech, contract lifecycle management, or enterprise applications ecosystem.

  • Understanding of referral, revenue-share, embedded, and marketplace-transactable partnership models, and when each is the right instrument.

A Note On Pace

We’re building something new in a once-in-a-generation shift in technology and the legal industry, so we move at a relentless pace. We expect urgency, ownership, and good judgment even when things aren’t perfectly clear. If you need structure and consensus to do your best work, this isn’t the right place for you. If you thrive in ambiguity and growth, work with intensity, and want real responsibility, keep reading. We’re excited to meet you.
