We are looking for a Senior Director of Finance Business Partnering to lead the finance agenda for our global Engineering & Workplace (E&W) organisation—a critical part of shaping the future of manufacturing at The LEGO Group.
In this role, you will combine strategic insight, financial leadership, and people leadership to ensure strong decision-making, disciplined investments, and clear value creation across a complex global portfolio.
This is an opportunity to influence strategic decisions at scale, work at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing and finance, and build and lead a high-impact finance team.
Core Responsibilities
Partner to shape strategic direction
- Act as a trusted partner to the SVP, E&W and the E&W leadership team
- Translate strategy into clear financial priorities, trade-offs, and actions
- Drive transparency on cost, capacity, and investment choices
- Support decisions on footprint, scalability, and long-term competitiveness
Lead investment and portfolio steering
- Oversee financial governance of a large, global capex portfolio, including manufacturing platform development, factory construction and expansion, and automation and digitalisation initiatives
- Ensure robust, fact-based business cases (NPV, ROI, scenarios)
- Strengthen prioritisation and resource allocation across competing initiatives
- Drive value realisation and post-investment follow-up
Drive performance and transparency
- Lead planning, forecasting, and performance management
- Create clarity on cost base and key drivers, project performance and delivery, and productivity and utilisation
- Deliver simple, actionable insights to senior leadership
Enable value through transformation
- Partner on key strategy initiatives on manufacturing Automation and Digitalisation and Product Innovation
- Ensure clear articulation and tracking of value creation
- Challenge assumptions to ensure technology investments deliver impact
- Promote a value-first mindset across engineering initiatives
Lead and develop a high-performing team
- Build and lead a strong finance business partnering function
- Develop capabilities in strategic partnering, investment analysis, and project finance
- Create clarity, accountability, and consistency across the team
- Foster a culture of curiosity, courage, and continuous improvement
Collaborate across the LEGO Group
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing sites, Global Planning, Procurement, HR, Digital and Finance
- Ensure alignment between E&W KPIs and overall LEGO Group KPIs
- Contribute to key governance and decision forums
Play your part in our team succeeding
The E&W organisation of ~1.000 colleagues drive the development and optimisation of manufacturing platforms across more R&D areas (covering decoration and assembly, packing and packaging and logistics), leads construction of new factories globally and operate and maintain the factory sites. Automation and digitalisation are key enablers in this journey.
You will lead a team of 8 dedicated Finance Business Partners and act as a trusted partner to the SVP, E&W and E&W Leadership Team, helping balance today’s performance with tomorrow’s transformation.
You will play a key role in shaping the future of manufacturing at The LEGO Group —ensuring that investments in platforms, technologies, factories, automation and digitalisation translate into real, measurable impact.
Do you have what it takes?
Senior finance leadership experience in global manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments
Proven track record in finance business partnering within complex, technical organisations
Strong experience with capex-heavy environments, large-scale projects (e.g. factory construction, technology/platform programs), and investment and portfolio management
Experience with automation & digitalisation, and/or transformation is advantageous
Strong financial acumen, connecting technical decisions to value
Effective communication with ability to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
Leads with integrity, builds trust, and fosters high performing teams
Challenges the status quo while balancing long-term and short-term goals
