What You'll Do
- Apply statistical, machine learning, and data mining techniques to large health data sets to build new products and methodologies
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Analysts, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and QA to discover and deliver product offerings from prototype to scale, then iterate and enhance
- Build data science driven approaches to solve “known” core problems to the business, and conduct more broad exploration to uncover the “unknown,” and drive new improvement opportunities
- Explore and find meaning in high volumes of data, identify signals and patterns to identify relationships to infer the universe from imperfect data. Important skills include querying, data cleansing, experiment design, solution assessment, and identifying scaling challenges
- Rapidly build prototype product solutions, communicate findings, and iterate
- Draw from prior experience and technical expertise to identify product improvements and inform testing plans; break overall objectives down into underlying problems that can be prioritized and solved
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on data science and statistics experience (or 2+ years with a Ph.D degree), demonstrating increasing responsibility and impact over time, including experience as the point person
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Applied Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning or another quantitative discipline
- Fluent in Python
- Experience with healthcare data, including prescription / medical claims data, EHR data, Lab data, Specialty Pharmacy data, copay data
- Strong analytical skills and curiosity
- Experience in at least one framework for large datasets (e.g. Spark)
- Experience working with large quantities of data to develop models that work in a stable, production approach with live data
- Experience working with engineering to productionalize models including scaling, monitoring, and documentation
- Comfortable with ambiguity and breaking goals down into tangible and actionable work plans
- Demonstrated ability to communicate statistical, mathematical, and computational concepts to audiences of varying technical levels
- Ability to work independently and across internal teams

Compensation
- Base pay: $135,000 - $185,000
- The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
