The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for developing map test designs and metrics, sampling designs, Machine learning models, data and computing tools, and other analytics centered on Map and Location quality requirements.
- Build innovative solutions to measure Map Quality using Machine Learning (including Predictive analytics) and Statistical methods
- Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on statistical and experimental design methods for Map and Location quality testing processes
- Develop sampling plans to perform map quality evaluation, and to create training data for building ML models
- Define & implement statistical quality metrics
- Design and develop data and computing tools to enable processing of data data and results
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Interact with external customers to discuss use cases, quality methods and metrics and make presentations
- Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Map quality testing methods and metrics
- Develop and ensure end-to-end design and implementation of quality testing processes, including test design, sampling plans, data collection, quality evaluation, data and computing systems, machine learning models, and metrics.
- Engage with other HERE stakeholders to understand business and customer expectations (before engaging in designing test process), and also present work
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Statistics / Data Science / Mathematics / Computer Science / Quality Management Systems
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience
- Proficiency in Machine Learning concepts and techniques (including classification /predictive analytics techniques)
- Proficiency in sampling methods and estimation
- Proficiency in Python and/or R
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience with understanding, specifying, and explaining measurement and analytic systems to other data scientists, engineers, and non-technical colleagues
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience interacting with both internal and external customers, and making presentations
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Team player with collaboration skills
- Organized, detail-oriented
- Project Management skills
Nice to have:
- Experience with using GIS (Geographic Information System) tools for spatial data analysis
- Knowledge and experience in Quality management, End-to-End quality test strategy and Six Sigma
