We are looking for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced commercial real estate environment to perform closings for high-liability multi-site commercial real estate transactions across the United States. A strong customer service acumen, attention to detail, and commitment to teamwork are key skills for this role. This role is fully remote as part of a commercial transaction team assisting title agents nationwide.
Commercial Escrow Officers are responsible for handling real estate transactions by establishing new escrow accounts, managing funds, processing documents for closings, completing settlements, and reviewing construction disbursement packages, all in accordance with established policies and procedures. You will communicate with agents and third parties to obtain documentation required in the title commitment in accordance with internal and external policies and regulations.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as a neutral liaison between file parties, adhere to company policies and industry best practices to monitor and mitigate risk to the company
- Prepare regular reports and checklists on the status of the escrow account and provide these reports to the parties involved in the transaction
- Work cross-functionally with title team to determine and obtain documentation to satisfy requirements set forth in the title commitment
- Review Buyer, Seller, and Lender transaction documents and instructions for closings
- Prepare legal documents for the closure of the transaction
- Prepare settlement statement, including proration of taxes and rents
- Complete closing by preparing and distributing final closing statements and documents to title team, agent, and file parties
- Responsible for ensuring that all funds are properly accounted for and disbursed in accordance with the terms of the contract and our company policy
- Post-closing review and disbursement of construction draw packages in transactions involving construction loans or future advances, minimizing risk to the company by tracking lien waivers and other supporting documents
- Use technical bulletins and other resources to evaluate and resolve problems
- Comply with regulatory requirements by adhering, and enforcing adherence, to requirements
- May act as escrow manager with no direct reports
- May price commitments, endorsements, policies and guarantees using predetermined schedule of fees and charges
What You’ll Bring:
- 5-7 years escrow/title related real estate experience (commercial preferred) with at least 2 years examining and disbursing construction packages
- May require escrow officer certification dependent upon state
- High School diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
- Proficiency with common business software, including Adobe and MS Office (Excel, OneNote, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
- Ability to quickly learn Company operating systems and new software applications and technologies (FAST experience preferred)
- Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Poise to help agents and customers and meet deadlines under pressure, all while maintaining a professional and positive attitude
- Keen attention to detail
- Stellar organizational and time management skills
- Capable of prioritizing and multi-tasking in a highly productive manner
- Thrives in contributing to a team committed to working together exceed customer expectations
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
