Role Overview

Position: Senior Business Systems Engineer (Salesforce & Billing Platform)

Role Purpose

The Senior Business Systems Engineer is a member of the Build team and plays an important role in advancing AI adoption within Business Systems. This role will help pilot agentic and LLM-assisted workflows, modernize development and deployment processes, and use automation to solve real engineering challenges.

While Salesforce and the billing platform are part of the systems this role will support, the main focus is on bringing AI-driven capabilities into the design, development, and operation of our systems. Key initiatives include internal platform migration, AI agent adoption, and CI/CD modernization.

This is a hands-on engineering role that requires close collaboration with product, business, and architecture teams.

Responsibilities

  • Promote AI-driven automation across the platform by actively exploring, piloting, and implementing solutions such as Einstein, Agentforce, and LLM-assisted development workflows.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Flow, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and declarative tools while following development standards.
  • Contribute to CI/CD modernization efforts, including AI-assisted code reviews and test automation.
  • Support and improve billing and Quote-to-Cash workflows as part of the broader platform, working closely with product and finance teams as needed.
  • Work closely with product managers, architects, QA, and other Business Systems Engineers during sprint execution, technical design, and code reviews.
  • Ensure solution quality through unit testing and automated test coverage. Partner with Production Support on root cause analysis when issues arise.
  • Identify technical debt and performance issues, and drive continuous improvement with a focus on automation and AI.
  • Share knowledge through documentation and peer collaboration, while providing informal guidance to junior Business Systems Engineers.
  • Support a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
  • Strong proficiency with Apex, Flow, LWC, and Salesforce declarative automation.
  • Authentic enthusiasm for AI-driven development, including hands-on experimentation with tools such as Copilot, Agentforce, Einstein, or LLM-assisted coding workflows, and a proven track record of using these tools.
  • Working familiarity with Quote-to-Cash processes and subscription-based revenue models (Billing experience preferred but not required).
  • Experience with modern billing or monetization platforms is a plus—such as Orb, Metronome, Chargebee, or similar usage-based billing systems.
  • 1+ year of Python experience is a plus.
  • Salesforce certifications are preferred (Platform Developer I & II).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
     Compensation:

If you have data to store, whether it’s backups, medical images, surveillance videos, financial data, multimedia, or scientific data, our pledge is to always be the cheapest, fastest, most secure and reliable cloud storage in the world. It’s all we do, and we do it better than anyone. In September 2022, Wasabi achieved unicorn status following $250M in funding. We team up with our partners in a purposeful way to create corporate social responsibility initiatives that will make a true impact in a way that is authentic to who we are. Our community engagement programs include veteran support via the Run to Home Base, support for women in sports with Girls Hockey Day at TD Garden, and non-profit storage donations. The Red Hot Beats program, launched with our partners at the Liverpool Football Club Foundation, promotes mental health and wellness through music therapy for young people in the Liverpool area. Meanwhile, our founding partnership of the MGM Music Hall at Fenway supports arts access, education, and opportunity for students and emerging artists in New England. Our values guide everything we do, shaping our culture and driving our mission. Wasabi's H.O.T. Culture framework stands for Humility, Ownership, and Togetherness. We value and respect others and are open to feedback and suggestions, recognizing that no one person has all the answers, take personal responsibility for our actions, decisions, and outcomes, and thrive when there's collaboration, teamwork, and inclusivity.

Why Work With Us

At Wasabi, we trust our employees and give them the flexibility to prioritize their personal lives while doing their best work. Our remote model and flexible schedules are among what employees value most. In 2026, 96% said they have the flexibility to balance work and personal life, 8 points higher than the industry average.
