We focus on craft, innovation, and collaboration, creating exceptional impact for e-commerce businesses worldwide.
We're looking for a Senior backend engineer to own the pricing system for all apps at Photoroom. You'll help deliver Product Growth initiatives and pricing architecture while collaborating closely with other engineers (both frontend and backend) and product owners.
Compensation: 95k to 105k + Stock-Options/BSPCE
Location: Paris (hybrid)
You will own your work from A to Z: it goes from working on the architecture & coding features to monitoring releases' performance (we use Datadog for monitoring).
You will own the delivery and the architecture of the pricing system used by all our products (iOS, Android, Web, API) and millions of users.
You will get fast feedback from our users and will iterate quickly (we update the backend multiple times a week). You will follow the usage of the product and make decisions based on that.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, front-end) to actively help design and deliver seamless user experiences.
You will optimise existing endpoints, driving down latency and ensuring we can continue to scale to ever greater usages
You have 5+ years of experience in backend development with Django and Django Rest Framework
You have experience working with a relational database at scale, designing schemas, optimising Django queries, and running migrations with minimal downtime
You have experience with scaling SaaS and subscription management (Stripe, RevenueCat)
You have a hands-on experience with a PostgreSQL/MySQL database larger than 100 GB
You have experience designing endpoints in direct collaboration with frontend engineers, delivering both Open API and developer manuals/supporting documentation
You are always the most pragmatic person in the room. You favour speed of iteration over perfect, always leverage frameworks and libraries to avoid reinventing the wheel
You have a strong sense of ownership. You take initiative and you are at ease to make product & technical decisions.
You are fluent in English (French is not required!).
If you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single point above, please still apply. We'd love to chat and see if you could be a great fit.
