Role Overview:
As a Senior Engineer, Institutional Life Technology, you will be a hands-on engineer supporting and enhancing Institutional Life's technology ecosystem across AWS data infrastructure, Salesforce CRM, IL Quick, AI-enabled solutions, integration services, and production operations. You will apply advanced engineering expertise to solve complex technical problems, recommend effective solutions, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, reliable, and governed technology capabilities in a regulated financial-services environment.
What You'll Do:
• Design, build, enhance, and support AWS data solutions using services such as Glue/PySpark, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DBT, and Terraform, including data reconciliation, testing, deployment, and performance optimization.
• Develop and support Salesforce solutions using Apex, Flow Builder, Change Data Capture, and SFDX, and collaborate on integrations between Salesforce, AWS, and downstream data platforms.
• Build and enhance AI-enabled and RAG solutions using Amazon Bedrock and IL Quick, applying established patterns for prompt engineering, knowledge retrieval, agent workflows, testing, guardrails, and human review.
• Develop IL Quick applications, workflows, automations, agents, and analytics that address business requirements while applying appropriate security, data access, provenance, and compliance controls.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues, improve monitoring and runbooks, participate in incident response, and collaborate with architects, engineers, and business partners to recommend improvements to reliability and engineering practices.
What You'll Bring:
You bring advanced hands-on engineering expertise and the ability to work independently across cloud, data, integration, and AI-enabled technologies. You use sophisticated analytical thinking to diagnose complex issues, evaluate alternatives, and recommend practical solutions. You communicate technical concepts effectively, collaborate across related disciplines, and understand how security, reliability, data governance, and regulatory requirements influence technology design and delivery.
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of relevant professional experience in software engineering, data engineering, cloud engineering, or related technology disciplines.
- 1+ year of hands-on experience building or supporting AI/LLM solutions (production or advanced prototyping)
• Salesforce development or integration experience with technologies such as Apex, Flow Builder, Change Data Capture, SFDX, and enterprise data integration patterns.
• Practical AI experience with Amazon Bedrock including RAG implementation, prompt engineering, and tool/function calling; familiarity with agentic AI concepts and multi-step orchestration
• Strong Python and SQL skills with experience developing data pipelines, APIs, integrations, automation, or production applications.
