Senior AccountantWhat does a successful Senior Accountant do at Fiserv?
As a Sr. Accountant at Fiserv, you will participate in daily accounting operations, prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations to assist with monthly close activities, and record the accounting of complex technology-related expenditures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Fiserv policies. You will partner with Finance, IT, and various stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting, improve processes, and support audits and regulatory requirements.
What will you do:
Participate in the day-to-day accounting for infrastructure and software including collaborating with Technical Accounting, Application Development, Corporate Accounting, BU Accounting, Sourcing, Procurement and Finance
Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations supporting month-end accounting and financial reporting processes
Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to determine accounting treatment for technology-related purchases and capitalized costs
Lead, train, and develop the Central Accounting India team for assigned general ledger accounts; review work and ensure consistency with policies and procedures
Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency
Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) internal control requirements, and Fiserv accounting policies

What you will need to have:
3+ years experience in Accounting supporting journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting processes
Experience with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in a corporate accounting, financial reporting or related environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar financial systems
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
What would be great to have:
Experience with technology-related capitalization, accounting for software, infrastructure, and long-lived assets
AI reporting and expertise
Master’s Degree
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or track
How you’ll work:
This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment.
