The Role
IT Scrum Master – Data & AI Solutions CoEPURPOSE AND SCOPE

The IT Scrum Master in the Data & AI Solutions CoE provides delivery leadership and Agile coaching to one or more data, analytics, and AI-focused technology teams. This role enables the successful execution of data-driven initiatives that support the organization’s business strategy and digital transformation objectives.

The Scrum Master ensures teams adhere to Agile and Scrum practices while delivering high-quality data and AI products, including analytics platforms, machine learning models, and data pipelines. The role is responsible for maintaining predictable delivery, managing dependencies, and ensuring alignment to scope, timelines, and quality expectations within data and AI programs.

The Scrum Master monitors team progress, promotes transparency across data initiatives, facilitates risk management, and ensures effective communication and escalation within the Data & AI CoE and broader stakeholder community.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as Scrum Master for Data & AI Agile teams, providing leadership, facilitation, and coaching to ensure successful delivery of data products and AI solutions.
  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, tailored to data and analytics workflows.
  • Coach teams, Product Owners, and stakeholders on Agile principles, Scrum practices, and continuous improvement within a data-driven and AI-centric environment.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Data Scientists, and Data Engineers to support backlog prioritization, refinement, and clarity of user stories, including data requirements, model objectives, and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify, track, and proactively remove impediments related to data dependencies, data quality issues, infrastructure constraints, and model lifecycle challenges.
  • Promote transparency by tracking and communicating Agile metrics such as velocity, model delivery cycles, data pipeline readiness, and sprint progress.
  • Support Agile planning and execution while ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance, AI standards, and delivery frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication plans, ensuring timely updates to stakeholders on data initiatives, analytics outcomes, and AI model progress.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration across data engineering, data science, analytics, and platform teams to manage dependencies and shared risks.
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of Agile best practices specifically tailored for Data & AI delivery within the CoE.
  • Apply sound judgment to resolve complex delivery challenges involving data integration, model development, and analytical workflows.
  • Mentor and support less-experienced Scrum Masters or team members within the Data & AI CoE.
  • Escalate risks, impediments, or delivery concerns related to data availability, model performance, or platform constraints to leadership when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the Code of Business Conduct, data governance policies, AI ethics guidelines, and all applicable company procedures and regulations.
  • Assist with additional Data & AI initiatives and CoE-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Advanced Degree (Data Science, Analytics, AI, or related field) will be an added advantage .
  • 5–8 years of related IT experience, including hands-on experience supporting Agile teams in data, analytics, or AI/ML environments.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification required or strongly preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of Agile frameworks, Scrum practices, and SDLC methodologies, with exposure to DataOps, MLOps, or Analytics delivery models preferred.
  • Experience working within a Data & AI Center of Excellence, analytics practice, or enterprise data platform environment.
  • Familiarity with data engineering concepts, machine learning lifecycle, analytics platforms, and cloud data ecosystems is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and facilitation skills with the ability to manage multiple data initiatives and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work creatively, analytically, and independently in a fast-paced, data-driven problem-solving environment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across data engineers, data scientists, business stakeholders, and leadership teams.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving capabilities, especially in complex data environments.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to drive Agile maturity and sustain change within Data & AI transformation initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen; understanding of how data and AI drive business value is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, financial services) and familiarity with data compliance standards is a plus.
