As a Sales Team member, your primary responsibility would be introducing and placing new products with customers, executing organizational initiatives, and driving sales on key items with strategic customers for long-term growth. Whether it is bacon, ham, fresh pork or another product category you will work directly with the customers and cross-functional with everyone from Business Management to our Plant Operations to deliver the service and products to our customers and consumers. Additional duties include maintaining merchandise areas in appearance, stocking, and other general retail duties.

Our Sales Representative is an entry level sales role designed to expose individuals to all aspects of a sales position including selling to our customers, broker management, product training including visits to all relevant manufacturing facilities, trade and deduction management. This includes trade applications, forecasting and demand planning.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the sales team to include coordination of workflow

  • Support and continuously develop relationships with current retail customers

  • Maintains well-stocked and presentable shelves throughout the entire store; replenishes samples when needed.

  • Update account managers on sales around promotions

  • Track weekly, daily sales via customers internal data

  • Assist Account Managers with any projects related to their retailers

  • Collaborate with Account Managers on Weekly/Daily sales reporting and Promotional Planners for customers

  • Manages metrics to meet or exceed all assigned sales objectives including volume, profit, and expense associated with selling products to all accounts.

  • Support and continuously develop relationships with current customers.

  • Manage and develop sales accounts.

  • Evaluate customer complaints and resolve issues; maintains customer account relationships.

  • Fiscally accountable for managing within an assigned budget.

  • Ensures that sales account initiatives are implemented and executed at store level.

  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers

  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.

  • Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Company will consider a currently enrolled college student with an anticipated graduation by end of current school year as qualified.

  • Knowledge of and experience with Spreadsheet, Word Processing, and Sales software.

  • Planning, organization, and execution skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong, effective relationship with customers and functional groups

  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player with a willingness to help other employees when needed.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously

  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment with team and customers

  • Valid driver’s license required with a good driving record

  • Local travel required up to 50% of the time; some overnight stays may be required
