Sales Operations Analyst

The Opportunity:

Verona Pharma is currently recruiting a Sales Operations Analyst to join our team, reporting to the Director, Sales Operations. In the role of Sales Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting the field sales organization as a whole. You will play a key role in providing data insights, analytical guidance, and strategic operational support for the field sales teams as well as cross-functionally within the organization.

To be successful in this role, you must transform data, both qualitative and quantitative, into clear and actionable insight. You will work closely with sales, field reimbursement, inside sales, market research, finance, and other stakeholders to support strategic and tactical decision-making through the delivery of analytics that informs key issues and customer needs for sales & market access.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the field-facing tools and reporting are optimized for efficient use and that sales teams, sales leadership, and commercial leadership are sufficiently trained on these resources.
  • Deliver regular actionable reports to sales leadership and drive insights through collaboration.
  • Serve as lead facilitator for salesforce quota & sales compensation administration across respiratory sales specialists, inside sales specialists, and field reimbursement managers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for any sales-related inquiries as it relates to incentive compensation, reporting, targeting, fleet, and CRM.
  • Assist with the development of HCP segmentation, territory sizing & mapping, key account targeting & business planning.
  • Partner with field stakeholders to understand critical business needs and recommend analytical methodologies aimed to support decision making.
  • Champion the use of advanced analytics in evidence-based decision making to influence the business.
  • Work with claims-level data to perform targeting and segmentation analysis on a reoccurring basis.
  • Leverage an in-depth understanding of managed care to inform data-based decisions for managed care strategy.
  • Partner with market research to leverage opportunities from within the team as well as CI and business analytics.
  • Incorporate those insights into the strategic planning and decision-making processes carried out by marketing, external partners, business development, and/or other stakeholders.
  • Work together with sales training to establish robust education of reporting platforms used by the sale organization to ensure adequate understanding of the information presented.
  • Collaborate closely with the commercial leadership team to create a culture that represents a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Challenge the status quo with the mindset of "disrupting business as usual."
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • 2-3 years sales operations experience or at least one year of pharma experience.
  • Broad range of sales operations and/or analytics experience supporting multi-layer salesforce & market access teams to include incentive compensation design & administration, territory business planning, key performance indicators, and dashboarding.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
  • Strong business intelligence platform experience (Power BI preferred).
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Excellent written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to serve as strategic partner to the commercial leadership team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • MS Office proficiency, with advanced Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledge of key pharmaceutical industry data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony).
  • Business travel, minimum 25%, by plane or car is required for primary research purposes.
