The Role

We’re looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing Boston-based team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their sales career who’s eager to make an impact in a high-growth SaaS environment—especially if you’re curious about the future of insurance. 

As an SDR at Hi Marley, you’ll play a critical role in driving pipeline for our Client Executives by identifying and connecting with key decision-makers at top insurance carriers and Insurtech firms. Teamwork and shared enthusiasm is a core part of our culture, which is why this role involves joining us in the Boston office for two days each week.

Hi Marley is leading the way in helping carriers modernize their engagement with policyholders, agents, and partners. As an SDR, you’ll be on the front lines: helping us get in the door with new customers and shaping how the industry sees us. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Generate new pipeline by prospecting into insurance carriers using email, phone, and LinkedIn.
  • Qualify and nurture leads to uncover real opportunities that align with Hi Marley’s value proposition.
  • Schedule discovery meetings and hand off qualified leads to our Client Executives with clear context and alignment.
  • Partner with Marketing to support targeted outbound campaigns by delivering messaging, following up on leads, and providing feedback on performance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of lead activity in the CRM.
  • Stay informed on key trends, market dynamics, and how Hi Marley fits into the evolving insurance ecosystem.
  • Contribute ideas to improve messaging, help test and optimize messaging and outreach strategies based on market feedback. 

What You Bring:

  • Based in the Boston area, with the ability to work from our office two days a week with a third day a week on occasion (hybrid environment).
  • 0–2 years of experience in sales, business development, customer success, or similar roles—bonus points if it’s within SaaS or insurance.
  • A genuine interest in the insurance space and a desire to learn how carriers operate and make technology decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills—you know how to tailor your message and hold a conversation.
  • High attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • You’re proactive, coachable, and not afraid to pick up the phone or experiment with new outreach approaches
  • A positive, team-first attitude with the grit to work through challenges and the curiosity to ask good questions.
