Job Description

The Research Associate will support the Joint Advertising, Market Research & Studies (JAMRS) contract by conducting research and data analysis that informs military recruitment strategies. Interfaces with the client on regular basis. Produces deliverables under supervision of senior team members including presentations, reports, etc. Supports the completion of project specific tasks within estimated time frames and budget constraints. Supports presentations and client meetings. Assists in the design, implementation, and analysis of research studies, contributing to the development of marketing and advertising campaigns aimed at attracting qualified personnel to the United States Armed Forces. Works closely with senior researchers and cross-functional teams to ensure that research efforts align with JAMRS objectives.

Location: Remote and JAMRS Headquarters located in the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA

This position is contingent upon contract award. 

Key Responsibilities:

Research Support:
  • Support all aspects of the research process, including design, Institutional Review Board (IRB) packages, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, and reporting.
  • Assist in the design and execution of both qualitative and quantitative research studies, including surveys, focus groups, and data analysis projects.
  • Conduct literature reviews, gather background information, and support the development of research methodologies (sampling and weighting methodologies), and the development of coding schemes.
  • Collect and organize data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Data Analysis and Interpretation:
  • Analyze data using statistical tools and software (e.g., SPSS, R, Excel) to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform recruitment and marketing strategies.
  • Interpret data and assist in the preparation of research reports, summaries, and presentations.
  • Support the development of data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.
  • Collaborate on data visualizations, presentation decks, and other project deliverables to summarize research methods, findings, and implications.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare detailed documentation of research processes, methodologies, and findings.
  • Assist in writing research reports, including executive summaries and recommendations.
  • Ensure all research documentation is accurate, organized, and accessible for future reference.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Work closely with senior researchers, data analysts, and other team members to support integrated research efforts.
  • Participate in team meetings, providing updates on research progress and contributing to problem-solving discussions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and advertising teams to integrate research insights into campaign strategies.
Quality Assurance:
  • Conduct quality checks on research data and reports to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Assist in reviewing and validating research findings before final reports are submitted to stakeholders.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity and research ethics throughout the research process.
Continuous Learning:
  • Stay informed of industry trends, best practices, and emerging research methodologies.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance research skills and knowledge.
  • Apply new skills and knowledge to improve the effectiveness of JAMRS research efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sociology, Social Science, Communication, Psychology, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in professional research and data analysis, preferably in market research or advertising (advanced degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience).
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in statistical analysis and research methodologies.
    • Experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g., SPSS, R, Excel).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to create visual and written summaries of research results (e.g., in PowerPoint and Word) that can be understood by non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) and successfully complete a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check and a National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with or within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Familiarity with JAMRS and its research objectives.
  • Knowledge of military recruitment processes and advertising strategies.

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
