What You’ll Do:

 

The Regional Safety Specialist is a hands-on role that connects corporate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) strategy with day-to-day distribution operations. Guided by OmniCable’s Zero Harm philosophy, this position promotes a proactive, people-first approach to safety—ensuring every employee returns home safely each day. Working within the region, this individual partners with site leadership, the Director of Distribution, and the Corporate EHS Director to turn strategy into action, strengthen collaboration, and embed safety as a shared operational value.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

·      Partner with site leaders to turn corporate EHS policies into clear, practical procedures

·      Serve as a trusted partner to distribution teams by reinforcing a safety-first mindset through coaching and collaboration

·      Act as a liaison between regional operations and corporate EHS to share challenges, successes, and field feedback

·      Support site teams with EHS program implementation, training and standardization across OmniCable distribution centers

·      Monitor safety behaviors, trends, gaps and provide timely feedback to the Director of Distribution and Corporate EHS Director

·      Conduct site visits with the region to observe practices, engage teams, and gather operational insights

·      Assist with distribution site audits to identify condition- and behavior-based opportunities that support OmniCable’s Zero Harm standard

·      Champion a learning culture by sharing best practices across sites

·      Partner with the EHS team and site leaders to develop training plans, content and effective delivery to the teams within the region

·      Coach frontline supervisors and trainers to incorporate safety principles into daily habits

·      Coordinate and maintain regional DC training schedules, including topics, presenters, and trainers

·      Ensure each training session includes signed attendance rosters and maintain records of training content and attendees

Work Experience

What You’ll Need:

·      Previous experience working in a distribution, logistics, or operations setting

·      Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to build trust, influence teams, and navigate varied team dynamics

·      Administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

·      Strong execution skills, with the ability to translate strategy into action and follow through consistently

·      Collaborative mindset and comfort working across functions and levels to drive shared outcomes

·      Willingness to travel frequently and be available within the supported region

·      OSHA 10-Hour certification required; OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred

·      Experience coordinating behavior-based safety programs

·      Ability to monitor work practices and identify behaviors or conditions that present health and safety risks

 

Bonus:

·      Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma practices

·      Prior experience navigating DOT, OSHA, or other regulatory audits

·      Train-the-Trainer, adult learning, or instructional design experience

·      Bilingual or multilingual skills in Spanish or another regional language

·      Experience conducting ergonomics assessments or supporting industrial hygiene practices

·      Previous experience in an EHS support capacity role.

·      Previous experience using EHS compliance platforms and learning management systems


Working Conditions:

·      This is a hands-on position working in a warehouse setting with industrial machinery

·      Individual must be comfortable driving a forklift and lifting up to 50 lbs
