Team Dynamics & Collaboration

Teams at OmniCable collaborate as one company, not as siloed departments. The culture is low-ego, approachable, and partnership-driven, with an emphasis on listening, responsiveness, accountability, and open input from others. Employees are trusted to own their work, collaborate across teams daily, and support shared goals through innovation and collaboration, which reinforces the company’s 'one team that succeeds together' mindset.

Collaboration is also supported by clear structures and habits. OmniCable encourages knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration, gives employees cross-functional exposure and opportunities to expand responsibilities, and uses regular feedback loops, development check-ins, and engagement assessments to keep teams aligned. Defined in-office expectations, remote and hybrid flexibility, focus-time blocks, modern technology, and workspaces with both quiet areas and collaboration zones give teams multiple ways to work together effectively while maintaining balance and consistency.

Recognition Practices

We have several recognition avenues at OmniCable. Our favorite is WorkTango that can be used for peer-to-peer, manager-to-peer, and other employee-to-employee recognition. Each recognition includes points with monetary value and must be tied to a Core Value or Zero Harm (our safety value!) to keep out commitment to OmniCable culture top of mind.

We also utilize internal news posts to highlight team wins and role changes! Employees on the Move is our internal news series highlighting internal promotions. Reeling in New Talent is our internal news series highlighting our new employees. Other news posts may include a great sales order or impressive distribution center performance.

We also use quarterly webinars to provide updates on the business. During these webinars, we spotlight employees with 10, 15, 20, and 25+ years of service with an anniversary (called "Omniversaries") during the most recent quarter. We also spotlight distribution centers with the longest record of no recordable safety incidents and any other news posts from the previous quarter.

In our safety newsletter, we also have a monthly safety spotlight that highlights a distribution center employee who has set a great example of safety in the workplace.

Lastly, we have our annual Bill Gray Award. The Bill Gray Award is an employee-of-the-year award, our highest honor. This award goes to the individual who best represented our core values during the previous year. Employees are nominated during an open nomination process by the entire company and voted on by the Culture and Communication Committee in collaboration with leadership.

In our 2026 engagement survey facilitated by Gallup, recognition was ranked one of our highest Q12 items.

Recognition Practices

OmniCable’s culture is people-first, highly collaborative, and grounded in shared accountability. The company organizes its values around family, inclusion, dependability, curiosity, and humility, which show up in how teams work together: people are expected to be approachable, low-ego, respectful, and open to input. The culture rejects silos, encourages every voice to matter, and treats mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve. Safety is also a clear part of the culture, with personal safety prioritized in every operation and interaction.

Growth and support are built into the employee experience. OmniCable hires for culture, collaboration, and capability, invests in developing employees as future leaders, and creates opportunities for learning, cross-functional exposure, internal mobility, and advancement. Recognition is part of how the company operates, with employees regularly celebrated and rewarded, and the emphasis on balance, wellbeing, and flexibility reinforces a culture that aims to help people succeed for the long term.
