The Role
Regional Product Director – CSEE

Central and South Eastern Europe represents one of the most interesting product challenges in European payments. You'll shape how we balance group-scale benefits with targeted local solutions across Poland, Greece, Croatia, and other CSEE markets—determining where to build locally, adopt group products, or partner with third parties.

We're looking for a Regional Product Director for CSEE who combines product strategy with commercial accountability. You'll own local product investment decisions, lead local product development teams, and drive adoption of group solutions where they deliver better outcomes. This is a rare opportunity to run product operations with genuine autonomy while being part of senior leadership at one of Europe's most ambitious paytech companies.

About your future role

In this role, you'll transform CSEE from isolated local product operations to an integrated part of our group product organization. You'll define and execute product strategy that determines the optimal mix of group tower products, locally built solutions, and third-party purchases for each market. You own both the strategy and its execution—managing local development teams, controlling investment budgets, and ensuring commercial success.

This role sits in a matrix organization and reports directly to the Group CPO. You'll partner with global Product Tower Directors on group product adoption while maintaining autonomy on local product decisions within your budget authority. You'll sit as a peer in regional leadership, working closely with commercial teams to align product investment with market opportunities.

Your key responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Investment: Define which products are delivered via group towers, local builds, or third-party purchases; make build/buy decisions and control local product investment budget.

Local Product Leadership: Lead local product development teams; set priorities and roadmaps for locally built products; ensure delivery quality and commercial performance.

Group Product Adoption: Drive deployment and success of group tower products in CSEE markets; coordinate with Tower Directors on requirements and integration.

Commercial Partnership: Work with regional sales leadership to drive product adoption and market penetration; ensure products achieve customer satisfaction and revenue goals.

Regional Demand & Requirements: Own demand planning across all products; capture and prioritize CSEE requirements; influence group roadmaps where needs align with broader strategy.

What makes you the right person for this job?

You're strategically sharp and analytically rigorous. You distinguish essential from distraction. You make evidence-based investment decisions and understand total cost of ownership. You're comfortable with ambiguity and can develop strategy in complex, fast-changing markets.

You speak truth to power. You'll challenge teams when they default to old patterns without good reason. You'll push back when local market realities justify different approaches. You stand up for what's right even when it's uncomfortable.

You're commercially accountable. You measure success in adoption, revenue, and customer satisfaction, not just shipping features. You understand what drives merchants to choose one solution over another.

You've led product in modern tech environments. You know what best practice product management looks like—roadmap discipline, evidence-based prioritization, iterative delivery. You can bring this rigor to CSEE operations while respecting local market knowledge.

You navigate complexity naturally. Matrix organizations, regulatory requirements, budget governance—none of this slows you down. You build alignment across competing priorities and get things done.

Qualifications needed to be successful in this role:

Must have:

  • 10+ years in strategic product leadership roles within payments

  • Experience in modern, product-led technology companies with best practice product management

  • Proven track record managing product strategy and investment decisions (P&L or budget ownership)

  • Deep payments industry knowledge across multiple markets or product areas

  • Strong analytical capability—you make data-driven decisions and distinguish signal from noise

  • Fluent in English

Nice to have:

  • Direct experience in CSEE markets (Poland, Greece, Croatia, or neighbouring markets)

  • Track record transforming local operations to leverage group scale

You'll succeed in this role if you:

  • Deliver strong ROI on local product investments

  • Successfully integrate CSEE operations with group product organization

  • Drive adoption of group tower products where they deliver better outcomes

  • Make disciplined build/buy decisions

  • Challenge constructively but commit fully
