Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB’s success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and by being able to work both independently and as a part of a Research & Development team.

This role is contributing to the Electrification/Smart Building/ Protection devices in Vittuone (Milan)
You will be part of the R&D center IT, responsible for several electro-mechanical low voltage devices (socket, fuseholder, …) and for low voltage protection devices and components (RCCB, RCBO, MCB, AFDD, motor reclosing, …).
You will be part of Product Care unit, managing the maintenance and the improvement/optimization of products in production (mainly in our factory in Santa Palomba -Rome, but not only), inside a global and international environment.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Working as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
Performing various tasks in the assigned area (e.g., mechanics, thermal, software), from building concepts, gathering requirements to designing, implementing, integrating, testing, technology transfer or maintenance, and operations.
Understanding and applying applicable processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints.
Driving the achievement of assigned targets (quality, time, scope, cost) and raising and addressing risks.
Design (2D e 3D) mechanical parts and assemblies of Low Voltage Breakers
Support Production, Quality and Engineering department during production process implementation of new products or modifications to existing ones.
Act as a project leader to release some Range Extension of devices already in production
Qualifications for the role
Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
Knowledge of 2D/3D CAD Nice to have: cad software Catia V5 and Creo 8.0
You are at ease communicating in Italian and English
Very good knowledge of MS Office, SAP and Windchill
Demonstrates adaptability under pressure, proactivity, problem-solving orientation, and commitment to deliver results by taking responsibility to execute tasks and projects, participating within a dynamic team environment.
Knowledge of task management tools such as DevOps and/or Jira
Knowledge of statistical analysis tool (such as Minitab)
Experience in lean sigma approach
Willingness to travel (mainly in Santa Palomba, Rome)
