In this R&D Senior Engineer role at ABB, you will contribute to product development and innovation in medium-voltage electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and leading quality improvements.

Manage manufacturing data, reporting, MES, ERP, Power BI, and related systems. Troubleshoot production equipment, OT infrastructure, industrial networks, and interfaces. Coordinate engineering-to-manufacturing transitions, solution implementation, testing, rollout, documentation, training, product data flows, PLM processes, and BOM transformations.

Supports financial and commercial management for assigned projects, driving revenue, cash flow, forecasting, cost control, and currency-risk mitigation. Prepares invoices, accounting and reporting documents, project reviews, cost reports, claims, and insurance cases. Identifies financial risks and opportunities while ensuring compliance with corporate governance, internal controls, and finance directives. Partners with project teams to explain financial insights and manage budget deviations.

Lead product marketing for Smart Power in Japan: develop market and pricing strategies, run promotions to maximize leads, analyze customers and competitors, coordinate cross-functional teams, and provide technical and sales training to internal staff and partners.

Create and modify 3D models and production drawings for high-voltage switchgear using Solidworks. Collaborate with project managers, production, customers, and development to resolve manufacturing issues, support testing, and contribute to product development and improvements.

Support R&D project portfolio by implementing KPIs and dashboards, coordinate NPI and product improvement projects using Stage-Gate, plan resources and timelines, coach project engineers, manage risks, maintain project documentation, and facilitate stakeholder communication to deliver projects on time.

Develop and maintain ABB’s 800xA and Sattline Distributed Control System software, particularly controller configuration tools and workstation applications. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, coding, testing, documentation, performance and reliability improvements, and troubleshooting complex customer issues worldwide. The role requires collaboration across the full product development lifecycle and supporting delivery projects globally.

Lead deployment of continuous improvement at a local manufacturing unit: coach teams, run improvement projects, align local strategy with global CI, train staff, remove implementation roadblocks, and drive measurable gains in safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.

Six-month Product Management internship supporting emergency lighting products. Responsibilities include data analysis, preparing presentations, supporting product lifecycle activities, translating engineering inputs into requirements, and conducting competitive benchmarking while collaborating with engineering, quality, and sales teams.

Process and analyze accounts payable transactions, verify invoices, prepare financial reports, support internal control compliance and testing, and document issues and progress. The role requires managing payment-cycle activities, working with SAP and O2C/P2P processes, and using Excel and PowerPoint for financial analysis and reporting. This is a hybrid position based in Bangalore.
