The key purpose of the role is to support the Business and Technology team that includes
- In this role, you will focus on regression testing during each release cycle, verifying that new changes do not negatively impact existing features.
- Play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our systems through manual and automated testing.
- Executing test scripts in accordance with the test scripts and detailed test plan.
- Work closely with senior test engineers, release managers, and developers to identify, track, and resolve defects while ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- To prepare and execute detailed test scripts based on requirements, validate the end results and document the defects identified during the testing cycle
- To ensure that new code changes have not introduced any issues into previously tested features.
- To test system behavior and validate against expected behavior through the execution of positive, negative and regression test cases, and will document the end results in the defects tracker
- To work closely with the Test Lead, technical teams, other internal and external teams to ascertain testing requirements
- To report and escalate issues wherever necessary to get timely closure of raised defects and achieve interface certification
- To ensure compilation and documentation of test results with history and version maintenance of issue logs and defect tracker
- Monitoring defects and coordination with relevant teams for driving resolutions as per the severity levels
- Test cycle execution within agreed timelines and as per test plan
- To ensure Zero errors prior to implementation of batch and online interfaces in production
- Mentor and guide junior test engineers, providing technical leadership and support.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Information Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in software testing.
• Good understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle
• Must have good understanding of Defect life cycle.
• Must have good knowledge of any defect tracking tool, preferably Jira.
• Must have experience in Systems Integration Testing of Web services and XML interfaces using tools such as SOAPUI, POSTMAN, etc.
• Good understanding of SQL basic queries for testing.
• Experience in Agile testing approaches – e.g. TDD, BDD and ATDD etc.
• Must possess excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and influencing internal and external entities.
• Have knowledge and understanding of Cards and Payments domain
• Technical knowledge on payment platforms such as Base24 switch, WAY4 CMS, Postilion switch, TIBCO middleware, Falcon Fraud monitoring, etc.
• Experience in Systems integration testing using standard ISO 8583 / 87, ISO 8583 / 93, NDC / DDC protocols.
• Experience in validating Settlements and reconciliation of various incoming and outgoing financial files.
• Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG)
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (preferably in Information Technology)
- 4-6 years of software testing experience
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
- Understanding of defect life cycle
- Knowledge of defect tracking tools
- Familiarity with Jira
- Systems integration testing of web services and XML interfaces using SOAPUI and Postman
- Basic SQL query skills for testing
- Experience with Agile testing approaches (TDD, BDD, ATDD)
- Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
