Automation and Controls Engineer
The Amalgamated Sugar Company – Twin Falls, Idaho
The Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking an Automation and Controls Engineer at our Twin Falls, ID plant. We seek a candidate to design and implement capital improvements to the sugar refinery. The position requires project management experience with engineering systems in the manufacturing environment. This position will report to the Engineering Manager.
Develop and manage process improvement projects. Projects may include, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, and chemical systems in a heavy industrial environment. Applicants must have the ability to manage multiple projects, prepare budgets and proposals, coordinate efforts of several departments and provide a leadership role in the development, installation, and monitoring of each project through commissioning.
Additionally, this position provides technical assistance in new equipment installation and commissioning, developing, and managing extra-ordinary budgets and proper account allocation, helps maintain database historian, as well as performs technical studies.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, preferably in Automation or Electrical engineering. A professional engineering license or the desire to obtain a license is a plus.
· Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides required knowledge, skills and abilities.
· 5 years’ experience with Electrical Controls-
o PLC programming ideally Rockwell
o HMI programming ideally Factory Talk and PanelView
o Electrical Drives power and controls
o Ethernet networking of devices to PLC (VFD’s, instruments…)
o Basic electrical power distribution
Considerable experience in processing systems in a manufacturing environment and current Engineering design practices.
· Prefer candidate possess knowledge and incorporate/practice GMP, food safety and food quality in all engineered planning, design, construction, and operation.
· Experience with process control is a plus.
