Amalgamated Sugar is seeking a Procurement Manager to join our team at the Paul, ID factory. This role is responsible for the timely and cost‑effective procurement of materials and services that support factory operations, as well as the supervision of administrative staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all site procurement functions, including sourcing, quoting, purchase order issuance, expediting, and supplier management, ensuring cost, quality, and service goals are achieved.

  • Lead competitive bidding processes, review and approve purchase orders, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Identify and evaluate new supply sources; collaborate with internal stakeholders on sourcing decisions.

  • Negotiate and establish supply contracts, securing favorable pricing, terms, and conditions while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

  • Supervise hourly staff, providing coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline as needed.

  • Train and manage staff to follow established procedures, ensuring accountability to company policies and departmental goals.

  • Interpret and implement company policies, safety standards, and environmental requirements.

  • Contribute to projects and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in purchasing, inventory control, or logistics; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • APICS or ISM certification preferred.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Familiarity with ERP systems in procurement, inventory, and logistics; experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
