Amalgamated Sugar Compensation & Benefits Highlights
-
Affordable Benefits — Zero‑premium employee health insurance with a low deductible and low out‑of‑pocket maximum is maintained under the 2023–2028 agreement, with some roles advertising a $0 family plan. Such low employee cost‑sharing materially lifts total compensation for full‑time, especially union‑covered, positions.
-
Retirement Support — Programs include a 401(k) with company match and, for many hourly roles, a defined‑benefit pension noted as unchanged in the 2023 agreement. This combination strengthens long‑term financial security as part of the core package.
-
Fair & Transparent Compensation — Publicly listed pay ranges for skilled trades (e.g., millwrights in the mid‑$20s to mid‑$30s per hour and welders in the mid‑$30s) and a union agreement emphasizing cost‑of‑living increases indicate competitive pay for these roles. Seasonal overtime opportunities can further increase take‑home pay during peak months.
