Company Overview

Ambiq is on a mission to enable intelligence everywhere — powering the AI edge revolution with the world's lowest-power semiconductor solutions.

Built on our proprietary sub- and near-threshold technology, our chips deliver multi-fold improvements in energy efficiency without costly process scaling. Since 2010, we've shipped over 300 million units to customers building smarter wearables, medical devices, IoT products, and AI-powered edge applications.

Our cross-functional teams span design, research, development, production, marketing, sales, and operations across Austin, Hsinchu, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Singapore. We move fast, tackle hard problems, and create space for people to grow through complex, meaningful work that shapes the future of technology.

We're looking for self-motivated, creative problem-solvers who are eager to push technological limits and make a real impact in energy efficiency.

At Ambiq, we live by five values: Innovate. Collaborate. Focus. Learn. Achieve.

If that's you, join us — the intelligence everywhere revolution starts here.

Scope

As the Production Planner at Ambiq, you will drive the end-to-end supply chain execution, capacity optimization, and production scheduling to ensure seamless product delivery. You will play a pivotal role in balancing factory manufacturing capabilities with dynamic market demands to maintain optimal inventory levels and on-time delivery performance.

This role will work withi nternal Product Engineering, Sales Operations, and Finance teams, while heavily interacting with external foundries and OSAT partners. .

The successful candidate is a highly analytical, proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced and rapidly changing semiconductor environment. You possess exceptional communication and negotiation skills, enabling you to build strong collaborative relationships with both internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners. You are detail-oriented, highly resilient under pressure, and capable of making data-driven decisions to resolve supply chain conflicts. A strong commitment to continuous process improvement and operational excellence is essential for success in this role.

The person in this role will utilize Excel and ERP systems to construct precise production simulations and capacity allocation models. You will monitor work-in-progress (WIP) status, track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time and yield, and generate critical production reports for management review. Additionally, you will be responsible for defining safety stock levels, managing RMA processes, and mitigating supply chain risks during sudden demand surges.

Responsibilities

Mastermind and execute weekly/monthly production plans for wafer fabrication, bumping, probing, assembly, and testing based on sales forecasts and capacity constraints.

Monitor daily WIP status at foundries and OSAT partners to ensure production schedules align with original commits and proactively resolve manufacturing bottlenecks.

Coordinate capacity allocation and conduct regular reviews with semiconductor vendors to secure necessary production slots, particularly during peak demand cycles.

Maintain and optimize supply chain data within the ERP system (such as Tensoft or Dingxin Workflow ERP) to ensure data integrity and seamless workflow transitions.

Build and maintain advanced Excel-based simulation tools, utilizing Power Query or Solver, to automate scheduling and evaluate "what-if" scenarios for capacity planning.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical field is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Industry experience: Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in production planning, production control, or supply chain management within the semiconductor industry, specifically within an IC design house environment.
  • Technical experience:

    • Proven experience managing subcon logistics and capacity with major foundries and OSAT partners.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including hands-on experience with Power Query, complex dynamic formulas, or optimization tools (e.g., Solver).
    • Strong working knowledge of semiconductor ERP systems and supply chain simulation concepts.
  •  Soft skills: Exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills in both local and international business contexts; strong analytical thinking and the ability to solve complex, multi-variable logistical problems independently.
