The Product Owner for PH Solutions team at TransUnion will work directly with the product management team to ensure that the product vision are translated into product features or work items that can be consumed by the product development team/s. The role is required to consolidate/document product requirements, build a high-level design of the requirements and work with the engineering team for the technical design. Other responsibilities include supporting the scrum team, manage the product backlog and optimize the value of the product/s.

What You'll Bring:

The product owner should have a practical and working knowledge as a SAFe Agile Product Owner and DevOps practitioner and will be working as a part of multiple Agile teams. The successful candidate must have at least five (5) years of intensive experience working with Agile/Scrum work environment as a Product Owner or similar role. He/she will be involved in daily discussion around the features progress, understand impediments of the engineering team and provide clarifications so that the product delivery commitments are met as per the market expectations.

  • Functioning as a core team member within our Agile teams as a Product Owner ensuring the features and stories are well-defined for the engineering team or scrum team to work on and following the development process through user story acceptance.
  • Extensive experience in B2B software, including experience creating, implementing, and managing software platforms and/or SaaS platforms
  • Familiarity with micro-services and API based products
  • Practical understanding of Scrum principles and practices
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid communication skills across all levels of the organization and with international teams
  • A genuine interest and excitement in working with different cultures is a must
  • Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic and intense environment – sees change as something that creates new opportunities
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a strong technical environment.

Impact You'll Make:

As a part of product team, the product owner will engage with Product Manager, COE (Center of Excellence) based Product Management team, customers or users from various departments to collect the product requirements and opportunities than can be best enabled by either localizing a global solution or developing new solution. Based on the requirements provided by the customers and the outcome of the market research analysis, the product owner will then work closely with other product owners and product managers, UI/UX teams, Development team, Marketing, Legal, Engineering, Operations and Data science teams to create a prioritized feature backlog comprising of high level technical design, business specifications, detailed product requirements, UI/UX mockups and relevant documentation.

You work well with virtual teams and have a flexible work structure that allows for early morning/late night calls with resources in other countries.

  • Voice of the customer based on the product features identified by product manager to the agile/engineering team
  • Represent capabilities and features at team level in supporting Scrum (SAFe) Framework.
  • Writes product requirements, user stories, test cases and ensure traceability between requirements to Features to User Stories to Test Cases
  • Conduct product UAT and publish test results promptly
  • Collaborate with solution architect, product manager, and engineering lead to translate requirements into user stories for the development teams to estimate and implement.
  • Review of QA test cases against user stories acceptance criteria
  • Resolve project issues and if needed, escalate issues promptly
  • Prioritize the Product Backlog aligned with business priority as communicated by the Product Manager
  • Formally accept the user stories once all acceptance criteria are met and demo-ed
  • Be a leader during Product Backlog grooming sessions, retrospective, defect prioritization and project team’s release planning sessions (e.g. product versions)
  • Use your excellent communication skills to understand technical requests and accurately translate into product features that include benefit hypotheses, outcome hypotheses, and acceptance criteria.
  • Inspire and motivate the development teams to deliver innovative and exciting solutions with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • Work with QA and analyze data and test results to ensure integrity is maintained throughout program lifecycle and ensure market and business needs are satisfied
  • You work well with virtual teams and have a flexible work structure that allows for early morning/late night calls with resources in other countries.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
