What You'll Do:
SambaSafety is looking for a Product Owner to join our Global Information Systems department focused on delivering CRM/ERP (Salesforce/Zuora) solutions to our customers. You will be part of a balanced team consisting of product and engineering. You must possess a blend of business and technical savvy, the ability to maintain a big-picture vision, and the drive to make our vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time with our internal customers and stakeholders to understand their problems/pain points and find innovative solutions.
As a Product Owner at SambaSafety, you will be a driving force behind the success of our back-office products, taking ownership of the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch and beyond. Your role involves research, analysis, and stakeholder feedback to inform product strategy and identify opportunities for innovation. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, customer success, sales, and marketing, you will lead the development process, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of features. Your responsibilities also include defining product requirements, creating roadmaps, and managing the product backlog. With a customer-centric approach, you will make data-driven decisions to optimize product performance and user satisfaction. Additionally, your excellent communication and change management skills will be essential in building strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on goals, and driving the overall success of the product portfolio.
  • Gather Customer Feedback: Collect and analyze customer/stakeholder feedback to inform product improvements and innovations.
  • Define Business Requirements: Develop detailed business requirements and specifications based on that feedback and create unambiguous and concise user stories (experience with gherkin a plus)
  • Create Product Roadmaps: Help develop and maintain product roadmaps that align with company and GIS OKRs.
  • Manage Product Backlog: Prioritize and manage the product backlog to ensure timely and efficient delivery of product features and initiatives
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, marketing, customer success, and sales teams to ensure successful feature and initiative development
  • Lead Development Process: Execute on the product development process from ideation to launch, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
  • Make Data-Driven Decisions: Use data and analytics to inform product decisions and optimize product performance.
  • Build Stakeholder Relationships: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on product goals and strategies.

Preferred Skills:
  • Industry Experience: Experience in back-office applications; Salesforce and Zuora and how those systems integrate with other systems. 2+ years of software/back-office product owner related experience.
  • Tools: Proficiency with product management tools like JIRA and confluence (or similar), Word, Excel.
  • Data Analysis: Experience with data analytics tools and techniques, ETL
  • Innovation: Proven track record of driving innovation and implementing cutting-edge technologies.
  • Communication: Extremely strong communication skills with internal stakeholders including senior leadership.
  • Global Experience: Experience working with global teams.
