Position Summary:  We are looking for a Manager, Product Management to join the Remittance & Posting sub-zone within the Collector organization at athenahealth in Chennai. This role focuses on driving product initiatives that support payment processing and banking integrations across multiple banking partners within athenahealth’s Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) ecosystem. The Product Manager will collaborate with banking vendors, cross-functional teams, and technical stakeholders to define product requirements, prioritize roadmap initiatives, scope MVPs, and deliver scalable platform capabilities. The ideal candidate will combine strong product management expertise with an understanding of business workflows, banking processes, and platform-driven product development.
About the Team: The Collector organization at athenahealth is a core part of the company’s Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) business, supporting healthcare financial operations and customer revenue outcomes. The Remittance & Posting sub-zone focuses on payment processing workflows, banking integrations, and scalable financial operations that enable efficient healthcare reimbursement processes. The team works closely with product, engineering, banking vendors, and operational stakeholders to build innovative solutions that improve scalability, customer experience, and payment processing efficiency across the athenahealth platform.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Gain expertise in healthcare financial workflows, remittance processing, and banking integration processes
  • Collaborate with banking vendors and cross-functional teams to define and deliver scalable payment processing capabilities
  • Define epics, user stories, MVP scope, and business requirements including UX and customer experience considerations
  • Prioritize product roadmap initiatives based on measurable business value, operational impact, and customer outcomes
  • Act as Product Owner for scrum teams, driving product decisions, trade-offs, and delivery execution
  • Partner with product leadership to influence strategic product direction and platform growth initiatives
  • Support feature launches and adoption activities through collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and operational teams

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate banking integration requirements and ensure successful onboarding of multiple banking partners
  • Drive cross-functional communication and alignment across technical, operational, and customer-facing teams
  • Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and operational metrics to guide future enhancements
  • Contribute to scalable platform strategies that support athenahealth’s growth and payment processing expansion goals
  • Ensure agile product management best practices are followed throughout the product lifecycle
  • Support risk assessment, dependency management, and issue resolution during product delivery phases
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to continuously improve workflow efficiency and customer experience

Expected Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Product Management or related field
  • Minimum 8–12 years of product management experience
  • Prior experience managing two or more products required
  • Strong understanding of product development concepts including microservices architecture, SaaS platforms, and micro front-end technologies
  • Experience working in agile development environments and applying product management best practices
  • Healthcare industry or healthcare interoperability experience (HL7, CCDs, Interface Engines, integrations) preferred
  • Experience in the U.S. banking industry or banking/payment integration workflows is an added advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
